Always there were exceptions
But ok, now set your eyes to your skin. You slightly overdoing with weathering on hinomaru, yes?Smile I think "softcore" version of topicstarter's skin is more historically correct.

if exist exceptions,..... no speak " always keep hinomarus clear". I have much more photo with hinomarus very and hard weathred.
And keep your smile of irony for you. The artistic representation of a design is in accordance with the reference, study or for work done. All my skins are made in accordance with literary references that I have here.

I want see you made a work without error and another errors.

Isnt it more important to make the skin look like the actual airframe looked?

Not Weathering hard or soft because you like it that way

btw only one of those roundels look in any way worn (the Ki61) and by the great condition of the under wing ones I'd say they were scrubbed off to lower the visibility

I do not know, whether is in English (or your native) language an aphorism: "an exception confirming a rule".

But why your skin is weathered much more, than is shown on a profile?
Maybe it only a sight of the artist. Perhaps, I too severe critic.
Sorry. No more critic from me.

Profiles give an idea of how the plane was at the time. Most often not reliable. Profiles are trying to versions within the artistic possibilities, imitating a car, plane or scenario.
