Both of them ran very nicely. I'm running an old Nvidia 8600 GT with a AMD 64 X 2 6000+ and 3 gigs of RAM. I'm eagerly awaiting your campaign. Thanks for the missions.

OK, I'm gonna show my ignorance here - where do you put these missions (Fighter Boys and FB 2)? I figured they would go into the ....1946\Missions\Single\GB. Guess not. I tried that but no luck. Can you give me some guidance?
Thank you for any help.

It's on Canon's old map - when I sort out problems saving missions on the new maps I'll do some more with the Hali...
Thanks Poltava for this one - I'll give it a try and let you know
Cheers

I'm shocked actually!! With Canon's HUGE Map, it somehow works smoothly! Both FB missions run smooth as silk on my "old" Rig:
Dual core E6700 Cpu
2GB OCZ PC2 8800 (1100Mhz) RAM
BFG 8800GTX w/768MB Graphics card
Windows VISTA 32bit
Great Missions! Looking forward to the Campaign!
For Bob Holmes: Yes, just put the two FB Mission
folders into the "...\Missions\Single\GB" folder
- Brockenheim - 02.09.2009
Yeah, map takes ages to load in FMB but the missions play like a dream with no frame rate drops at all and thats all I care about. Imagine having all these buildings and ground detail and not being able to go anywhere near them because of slow down...

I am now working on a RAF Battle of Britain campaign for the 1940-41 version of the map, and below you can find a link where you can download one mission from that campaign:

UPDATE! And here is another one:

Well, by the above links I am throwed to the site

Where to get these missions, please?
- Bob Holmes - 02.09.2009
Thanks Doolittle. That was my mistake. I just put the two files, missions and properties there after I unpacked it. Didn't work of course.

Well, now let me revisit my last post. Went back and looked at what I had done, and I had put the two folders where you said to put them.
But now, my question. When I go into the game, go to single missions and RAF, what is that mission called? I don't see anything that would look like it.
See, told you my ignorance was showing.
Thanks.

Gonna try it out soon.
Fabian, how do you change the spit type? (as in, from1 to 1b to use in the mission?)

In the Single Missions menu, in the Drop Down under RAF, the missions should show with the same names as the names of the folders: "Fighter Boys" and "Fighter Boys 2" Make sure you don't have any sub-folders. For example, inside your "...Missions\Single\GB\Fighter Boys" folder....you should only have the two *.mis and *.properties" Files.

Yeah but.....these are zip files, and have to be unzipped, don't they? When I unzip them (I always do it into a temporary folder first before installation), I just end up with the two files, mission and properties. Don't see a "folder". What am I doing/interpreting wrong?
I mentioned my ignorance, but please keep in mind also that I'm 67 yrs old, and much of this stuff is starting to get really hard, for me anyway.
Thanks for your
patience and help.

Poltava,
Thanks for your efforts.
Flew your first mission last night. As others have, I noticed a real long time loading the map. Once I got into the mission however, things worked fine, good frame rates, smooth.
I enjoyed the mission a great deal. Fantastic to finally duel with Me 109's with Cannons great map and the cliffs of Dover in the background. Keep up the good work. I am looking forward to your campaign.

Bob , m8 you need to make the map yourself and put these two files in it , you can name the map what you like and put it into the GB map\ open the game select single missions select RAF and the name of the map should show up, open it and you can select the Poltava missions,
and yes sometimes people forget that il2 is not that easy so there is sometimes no consideration, i apoligise for that but sometimes the same questions are asked so many times that you get tired, anyway i hope you get the mission to work, cheers m8
