Its a radial zoom, using two layers. The top layer has the radial zoom, and the under layer is clean. Then you erase the edeges around the plane on the top layer, and a clearer image of the plane is seen, while the rest of the photo has the radial effect or motion blur. Techiniques may vary slightly from person to person but that's how i do it.

i like to use the radial blur just on the explosions.


Its an awesome effect and you only need photoshop to do it.
