It might be too easy this way, but OK - think 1930's movies -

Hello Agracier, I love the new detail and Bombsaway's new texture, thanks for updating this map.

However, I had a technical issue with map loading you should be aware of, the download has the avalabeach.tga instead of the avalabeachrock which it needs to load. I eventually got it sorted but it took a while. :?

Yup, you are right. I put the wrong texture into the upload folder. My apologies.

Here is the missing texture. Put it into your folder
..._Tex/water

Well, it's a texture and a bumPh, but consider them as one ...

Once again, sorry about this.

Another hint (for the FMB) - Groucho Marx ... though this is a bit too easy now I'd think ...

- Bombsaway - 29.11.2009

Dang, Sad I cant find it. I looked up his movies but couldnt find a match. I'm not giving up yet. Big Grin

That's it. There is a real Driftwood Bay on the north side of Unalaska Island ... but every time i hear the word 'driftwood' I can't help but think of a Night at the Opera and Groucho trying to sign a contract with Chico ... 'the party of the first shall henceforth be known as the party of the first ...' ha ha

Couldn't help myself on this.

That was great fun. Big Grin You should do this more often.

Cool! I just received a book from a friend titled The Last Flight of Bomber 31 by Ralph Wetterhahn- all about 'the Arctic air campaign.'

This map will make the book come alive 8)

Thanks to all involved!

Depth Problem! - benitomuso - 01.12.2009

Hi Agracier,

I like very much your map of the Aleuthians, I have started a mission that I will release where a Tu-4 with an atomic bomb is coming by your map escorted by some MiG 15s and you can intercept them from some F-86s land based or F9F-2 from a carrier. It is a fictional mission of an eventual situation of the early cold war.

The fact is that even your second version of the map has the same problem of the first one. The depth of water seems to be about 1 meter (or something like that) in all the sea. It makes you feel that you a re in a basin. It is clearly seen when a plane fells to the water: it doesn't sink, it stays there, only half under water, and that's because the soil is too close. You can even see craters just a little under water surface, something that doesn't occur in other maps where the depth is higher.

Could you do something for it?

Thanks a lot,

Pablo

I wish i knew what the cause is for this, but in all honesty I have no clue. As far as I know all the relevant parts pertaining to water are the same as in other maps. The intricacies of water are a bit of a mystery to me so I'd like to plead to those more knowledgeable to perhaps lend a hand ...

Missing texture - chopperman - 28.12.2009

Hi Agracier,

I've downloaded your very promising Aleutians map, but in the rar file I didn't find the "Mbug_sk_ForestFar_Hiver.tga" texture. So the map does not appear in the FMB.

Could you be so kind to tell me where I can find it ?

Thank you
