in his sights, and he opened fire from 300 yards. The rounds struck the rear of the Mustang's tail, destroying her rudder controls. The pilot,
Freddy McMannis had to crash land in a French field. His aircraft eventually came to a rest within 5 feet of a telograph pole.
The P-51 that was destroyed was piloted by Freddy's older brother, Harry. The smouldering wreckage lay only 100 meters away from Freddy's downed P-51.
In a state of hysteria, Freddy sat on the wing of his aircraft, head in hands, and wept.[/quote]

For a moment there I knew that something might be wrong with this story. LOL
I searched some books I have and also did a web-search for Freddy McMannis and the 337 Fighter Squadron,
but came up a blank. AH! You pulled my leg! Big Grin But it did sound like a very intriguing and dramatic story.

I have Heinkel He-111's, Me262's, Spitfires, Mustangs, micro-aircraft, Fw190's, Non-Historical nazi experimental fighters and bombers (Including a twin-engined Me109 G) a Lancaster, and Im working on a B-17. Tongue

After the Storm
Moments after being bombarded by Russian shels, and the air still thick with smoke, a German officer struggles to his feet, while two of his soldiers lie dying in the freezing snow. After being pinned down for 3 days, the men finally surrendered after continuous bombardment. All were executed on site by the Russians.
