Have you tried freetrack? It's like trackIR but you can build it by yourself

before i had track ir i came up with an idea. i was looking as someone using a laptop computer and i saw how the mouse was used (u just use your finger tip) so i wondered if you could buy just this pad. any i found some one who makes one and i made a bracket and attached it to my joystick. it works great till my Mrs bought me a track ir for Xmas
having said that it was before i knew about free track but anyway here is the link
