I think the AC list looks very ambicious. All AC from BoB seem to be modelled with high details. Someone said that that these are not enough, but Vanilla Il-2 had also so little at the begin. I think that patches with new AC will follow, just like in Il.2 and it seems that an addons will also follow... as far as I know the next will be KTO...

We saw what the MODs improved IL-2 beyond thought, imagine what could be done in SOW ... I understand that for business reasons Oleg and 1C dont agree yet, but we will always support them, SOW that will be a huge worldwide success.

I think that they dont have much time to finish all the planes so i think (and i hope) in a future patch they will include the other planes in flyable !

"The Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun was a German single-engine sports and touring aircraft"
Just wait and you'll see them in Il-2...

Are but I've bee waiting (patiently) for the Do-17 He115, and the Boulton Paul Defiant for quite a while now,
And they where used in the Battle Of Britain regularly,
So with SoW I thought they would make them flyable  but what does Ubisoft have something against Dornier or something like that?

@ rowwdy: hear, hear. That's the sole reason I have not switched to the modded version as yet.
@ archer: The Lancaster wasn't available operationally until, IIRC, 1942. It certainly wasn't available during the Battle of Britain period.
The lack of a flyable Do17 is a headscratcher I have to admit. Regardless, I think this flight sim will be well worth the wait (particularly given that I haven't been able to play BOB-WOV for some time now thanks to Norton and AVG. I'll be damned if I'm going to change AV software for a single program).

In regards to the above mentioned Do 217 ..can someone in the know reveal why Oleg wouldn't make a flyable version ??? I would gladly give up any of the Italian non relative birds ( esp the Br 20 ) for the Do 217 which flew extensively in the BoB . Dont get me wrong ..I'm looking forward to this game ..just wished I could understand some of the decision making on what planes will be flyable and why some that are needed..are left out .

I'm not sure there is anything to 'reveal'. Oleg only has limited resources, and he chose to use them the way he did. Maybe he thought that an Italian bomber was a bit more interesting than another German one (he seems to like quirky planes). Maybe there isn't the historical documentation available to do the Dornier justice. He has already stated that third-party addons for SoW:BoB will be a definite possibility, so I'd imagine a flyable Do 217 will be available at some point.
