Move the folder where you want, and open regedit.exe (in vista just write it to the start menu search), then go to the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 and click on the "folder". It has folder 1.0 in it but do not click that. Change the value "path" to the correct path of your game folder. The registry value is only needed for uninstall trought the add or remove programs menu in the control panel.

Thanks for all your help guys, been playing MP for the last 3 hours and had a great deal of fun shooting (and getting shot at) above the clouds. Must say there are some damn good pilots out there and the dogfights have been great fun. Was on a packed server and was taking off in my B25, fully loaded and gunning it down the runway. Out of nowhere some Spitfire pulls into my path as he makes his way across the runway. Pulled up just in time thankfully and he escorted me to the bombsite and back. Had a great few laughs too Big Grin

Not downloaded the HSFX mod yet so a few servers out of my reach. Is there any particular server that AAS folk tend to play on so I can have a few games with you lot?

Glad to hear you are haveing a good time. Big Grin
When you get HSFX in your game the fun will be 100%
More as you will have more planes and maps and servers to play with.
This site is a water hole for many in IL2 from all over as for servers
Just find the ones you like and am sure you well see some names from
Here in them servers as well and also make new friends in them servers.

Hello, Tierra Firma

Joining the modding community could not have come at a better time. We have plenty of members, knowledge, and many mods. More great things are to come on the horizon.

I recommend to everyone who wants to fly in IL-2 online that they join a well organized online squadron. You would get one on one help. There are bombers (some 4 engine, too!), fighters, and fighter/bombers flying in missions of every type in any theatre of operations. Single missions and online campaigns are available. Public missions such as HyperLobby and huge private missions with several squadrons can be enjoyed.

Community Generated Squadron List:
viewtopic.php?f=107&t=24405
Each squadron name is a link to their organization website.

If you send a private message to Billfish-author of the Squadron List, she could recommend a squadron for you. Once you find one that you like, then they can get you flying with them.

As for HyperLobby, I sometimes go in there to reek havoc, so you might find me escorting you sometime. I tend to fly in my squadron HyperLobby channel or in one of the stock IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 version 4.09m servers because I'm a stickler for in game fairness about aircraft (flight models), mods, and rules.

Here are some things to ponder.

Have fun! Big Grin

Thanks for the link Fireskull Big Grin

I have a small question, for online play to switch the custom skin option on, does the switch have to be down or up? Keep getting confused. Oh and is it possible to use a no-cd crack on the game?

Terra Firma,

The standard is this:

1) Switch UP = ON
2) Switch Down = OFF

I don't understand the second question. What does "no-cd crack" mean? Are you referring to ripped music? If that is what you are asking, then that's a yes. There is at least one way to use music ripped from a CD. I only did it once a couple years ago, so I only remember that you will need a sound editor such as the Freeware called Audacity which I used.

Don't worry about that last one, I've got it sorted now. Big Grin
