i know :S

i have an Acer too, it works ok since it's just a laptop but i still have had better days than those FPS you talking about
have you tried re-installing it?

Re: FRAPS kills Il-2 *BUMP* - KG64_Cnopicilin - 17.08.2010

Read carefully.... FRESH WINDOWS 7.

For half-size fraps needs to downscale the video on the fly, which is more stressing than just capturing full size.

i don't know what your problem is because when i used half size i got at least a 10-20 FPS boost

You could try this: Altering these settings were the last hurdle that seemed to help me. Took lots of tweaking....I noticed that these settings are diff/higher than mine in your confi. **I did notice a boost when I personally changed this. Didn't seem to alter the graphics at all either using a 285gtx

Specular=1
SpecularLight=0

You could also do a test with changing your setting to ProcessAffinityMask=2 . i think I read ppl have diff levels of success with this setting. (I went from 3 to 2 and seem to have better performance with a quad core)

My game runs on perfect settings smooth 60FPS, but when I start recording with fraps it drops my FPS to 10.
I tried to lower the settings; no effect. I tried with 1 plane and 32 planes, same result.
What could be the reason for the FRAPS to act like that? It worked fine before.

Also, you said " it worked fine before?" Maybe you need to rollback a soundcard driver or similar? just a thought.

Re: FRAPS kills Il-2 *BUMP* - 8FS_Bulau - 17.08.2010

Since you have dual core CPU, you could try setting processor affinity to run IL-2 on one core and FRAPS on the other. (although I don't think that is the problem)

Do you have any AA set in video driver? I think that is hard on FRAPS also.

Is this the exact same version of FRAPS you were using before, or update?

I also suggest the FRAPS forum, if you haven't already:
http://frapsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3

Might get better diagnosis there.

Re: FRAPS kills Il-2 *BUMP* - KG64_Cnopicilin - 17.08.2010

No AA, FRAPS seems to be an updated one.

You want my Honest opinion? With that ATI its like you want to race in Formula 1 With a Fiat Looks like A formula thats the problem with ATI they have weird performances and always makes you scratch your head,A friend of mine bought ATI FIREPRO 2450 it costs now about 450 euros and with this card and latest Settings he cant make the il2 play smooth and always it Freezes up,I search a lot what The F**** might be the problem ,i change everything new .dll new buttons and nothing,I hope to find fix to your problem but i am 100% that this cards are not so good,I borrow him after that a Gforce 6100 and the IL2 looks again smooth with full resolution ~
