Yeh Modding is just a hobby, AFAIK even Team Daidalos is not being payed to do their 4.10 Patch, it is in their own free time because they like the Sim and would like to see it's continued promising development.

If the model will be done in the correct way, TD may include it in a future patch, but TD has nothing to do with donation campaign.

Well obviously if they don't get the "5000" dollars then the model isn't going to get done.

And so far there is no enthusiasm from here or SAS so I doubt they will get the 5000 dollars.

the only thing i think that would cost money is something like 3DS, which should be at the expense of the creator not the forum

Which could be well replaced by other, cheaper progs. 3DSmax is insanely expensive, but to do a mod, a good mod, a mod that can't be overlooked, you won't need that.

This is what I'd say from my limited knowledge of the software itself and what I've seen so far, coming from other 3D progs, other than 3DSmax.

Max is still "MAX", but going to the cinema might help.... :) :roll: :wink:

You could, of course, buy IL-2 1946 from the bargain bin where it now resides, say £10. Then you could install the free patches until you have version 4.09. After that you could install HSFX or UP, at no cost to yourself. Finally, if there are mods that aren't inciuded in those packs you could add them manually for no extra charge.
If, after all that, you are so desperate to have a B-17 cockpit that you are willing to fork out $5000 up front then be my guest. You'll be on your own though.

I wouldn't even waste your time with this drivel.
I know for a fact that the Bombers are being worked on by someone quite competent and will be as close to RL as possible (FM's/DM's).
Eventually, we may even see proper cockpits for them and it's all free. Just takes time.

Be patient and all will eventually be revealed.
