1.the file that was in the zip was jointops.exe (CD crack)
2.I did a complete format,but I was wondering if it was complete,because it didn't take near as long to do a full format as it used to on XP.

Allright, I made it over to my in-laws today (whom have an AWESOME internet connection) and installed utorrent. I re-downloaded the HSFX file, brought it home on a DVD............and it installed with NO problems! So I guess the one on my usb jump-drive is corrupt, and shall be deleted as soon as I am done here.I thank you ALL for your help and concern. And jynxx, if you find anything from your questions that I answered, please let me know.Once again, Thanx everyone.

Before trying to run the game, make sure that you have completely updated all your drivers first.
It's best to install in this order:

1. Mother board drivers
2. Windows Updates
3. Peripheral devices (Video cards, sound cards, NIC etc...)

When does the game crash?
Does it start to run at all or just go straight to desktop?

Hi Jynxx, well, I ended up re-installing everything "IL2 related" in XP service pack 2 compatability mode.Game started,made it to the menu screen, and then I realized that my X52 pro is not set-up yet .It was getting really late, so I told myself that I would get back on it when I get home from work today. So once again, I'll let you know this evening. Thank you.
