I truly don't mind at all. A lot of them are really very nice...
As long as I can hear the sound of those engines "Power, more power", (how do you spell: whoooouoououh?)
and on my body the goosebumps turns into a fur - I'm the happiest man on earth. :

Spitfire, P-51, Me262, Bf-109, Fw-190, P-40, and the Ju-87 Stuka.
In Il2 I prefer to fly the P-51 or Bf-109, Both being rather agile fighters, And the Bf-109 can pack some pretty nasty firepower depending on variant.
All the same though, i fly them terribly like all other aircraft, and die in multiplayer very easily.

I too like the Stuka one of the best dive bombers ever made, the siren when it is diving is truely terrifying, but a nice tuch 8)

I like the Sud-Est 100. Not because it changed the world or inspires unmentionable male activity, but because like all things french it was completely bonkers.

Cool! that plane looks like that indeed!
in this sense, at this page you can see real world planes (or projects) that inspired the fictional planes of that game, with their mixture of classic and futuristic design:

Yes, that was bonkers too!
So bonkers the Germans tried to complete the project but they couldn't make the thing fly properly. In all fairness though the French did come close to some startling winners. The Bloch 157, tested in 1942 after a long winded completion by the Germans, achieved a level speed of 440mph and certainly raised their unflappable prussian eyebrows.

As a fighter the Ki-45 or P-38: two engine, much Ammo and firepower and fast, too fast for the Zero!
Bomber: B-26 or A-20, a multirole aircraft with a cool cockpit!
Re: What is your favorite WW2 plane? - Mane - 24.12.2012
- Fw 190D-9
- Hawker Tempest V
- F4U-1 Corsair
- Yak family
- P-47D
As for the Dora, the aircraft design went close to perfection as the plane had the so called ¨Divine Proportions¨, I mean the number PI in all of its measures. From spinner to rudder divides by spinner to CG = PI and so on.

Just a wee bump
My favourite WW2 era aeroplane?
Hmm - I always had a soft spot for the Hurribox... Especially the Mk IIc - 4x20mm of pain!
