love the sounds, but some planes dont have it. havent tested all but the B-25-J22 and the Re.2000 are a couple that I noticed had no flyby sound.
Im not insulting mod, it is great. im just giving a bug report.

I got my sounds working now just some planes dont have flyby sounds and some plane have low flybys but overall its a really good sound mod

Wonderful, quality sounds and the improvements to sound realism are most appreciated, particularly realistic occlusion of external sounds. The only area of inconsistency I noticed was the relationship between in-cockpit engine sound and exterior airflow sound, in that 1.) The engine sounds are sometimes partially overwhelmed by the airflow sound (not stall/stress, just the constant overflow sound over X speed), even at full RPM, which reduces the dynamic range of engine sounds, and 2.) the airflow sound is far louder in the enclosed cockpit of multi-seat aircraft than in open gunner positions (yes, I have windblow fix mod, that's not the issue). There does not seem to be a separate airflow sound for gunner positions, you just hear the cockpit airflow sound playing diminished depending on the gunner position's distance from the pilot position.
Few other minor issues noted:
-.50 cal sound only sounds decent for planes with 6 wing guns. More or less guns sound odd and guns in the nose are overwhelmingly loud.
-Ju-88 pull-out siren is make your ears bleed loud.
-rocket firing sound strikes me as unrealistic in level and duration, and there is and odd distant sound at the end (maybe meant to represent R4M or RS-82s detonating by time fuze, but doesn't fit with many situations)
I wish I could keep using it, but the proprietary buttons files makes it a no go for long-term use. Sure hope to see this integrated into future releases of HSFX/UP/SAS.

... but I'll pass. The much anticipated fly-by has disappointed. It is not in synch with RPM and suffers as a result. While the sounds themselves are great, they don't seem to fit - like they have been dubbed in. I haven't noticed any dive sounds that have been done well in other mods in the past. In-cockpit engine sound is very faint. I thought Jafa's Seafury sound (especially in fly-by) was one of the best. Sadly, it is not duplicated in UV2. Another of my favorites was the Y_Jumo213 sound. Again, altogether different here.
I will say that the installation process was quite simple. I found the jet engine sounds to be very good, though I had to hit F3 then F2 then F1 to hear them properly.
My 2 cents ...

Can this also be used for offline as I don't do much multi player?

Tiger33 Wrote:gpang788 Wrote:3rd, when doubling the aircraft back ( still in flyby mode), aircraft comes round without any flyby sound at all? Is this a bug or is it due to a faulty installation?
3)it only works when pressing F3 and not "doubling" the aircraft back in F3 view.
All aircraft have a sound flyby depending on their original engine and it works for all aircraft.
Thanks for replying me Tiger
Will the double back sound be fixed?
I also noticed that some jap & Russian aircraft like the A5M, ki 43 as well as the i16 etc have no flyby sounds at all.
Have I installed anything wrong here?

I did find it odd when I pressed F3 in the P-47 while landing it sounded like it was going 440.
once again Tiger, I not try to insult. I hope my feedback and others help.

Excellent mod, it just adds that extra realism.
I definately love the F3 key now, I'm always pressing it!!

I love the sounds and the fly-bys, but in all honest, I'd rather have the awesome sounds at the volumes of the sounds mods for UI or HSFX. I know it's less realistic, but I prefered it that way for playability. Nonetheless, this is a truly epic mod! Many thanks!

No problems and it is also a beautiful button called "delete "....

Thank you for this enormous amount of work!! Sounds great from what I tried so far (without actually playing the game, just playing the WAV files)...
One question: Is there an option to have it running without the additional Java and buttons stuff, just the sounds? I don't need flyby sounds at all (never used F3 on purpose) although they seem to be great.

That's my issue here, same as akdavis'. Can I just copy the sound files over my old UI sound files? I know that by this, I'm ignoring a great deal of the more difficult work you did on that Mod, no offence meant, but I'm just not so keen for it
Yet I very much like the sounds!!

First of all; a heartly salute to the ones that brought us this mod.
As a UI 1.1.1 user it works absolutely splendid! It's truly a masterpiece that pushes the IL2 game to a new level.
And with that, ofcourse, come limits.
But what has been done, within these limits, is absolutely by far one of the best things that's ever been done to this game.
I was delighted with the Beaufighter's sounds..
Thrilled with alot of other aircraft like the Yaks, Spits, Hellcats and US bombers..
And truly amazed with the Tempest & Typhoon..
The only few minor points of critique that I can come up with are these:
> sometimes at the beginning of a mission, i have no engine sounds - switching between internal and external view a few times solves this.
> sometimes at the beginning of a mission, i have no weapon sounds - switching between internal and external view a few times solves this.
This occurs the most with the US/British .50cals and the .30cal guns.
And last but not least my biggest point:
> A lot of aircraft are really too quiet inside.
Best example could be the Tempest/Typhoon, which was notoriously loud inside.
The same goes to quite alot of others.
Is there any way to fix this?
Can I even fix this myself - or can we expect a possible update/fix for this in the future?
Apart from that, I really totally dig this mod!

+1 to some of what Eexhaton has said. I also have found that the weapon sounds are slightly quiet as well...
But I'm just knit-picking...these sounds are awesome!

The whole idea of this soundmod is to simulate what a pilot would hear with his helmet on. Cockpit were noisy, pilots were cautious.
Own aircraft sounds only when airborne, not too loud, little treble, much bass. Explosions only very near and faint, but louder impact. Windnoise that tells you what speed you're flying (high or low), you cetainly now know when your cockpit is open, and so on.... it is by no mean perfect, but in many aspects much much better than Oleg's. The few glitches one still finds were left mostly because author is tired after one year's work, please bear with those and take some time to find all the plusses before the minusses turn you off, i'm sure a warm welcome will help get things extra polished in the future.
Note:"Own aircraft sounds only": this feature, in order to still have external sounds working properly, has needed months of work on java classes from Tiger and his tech help. Almost every sound now has a different call when heard from inside our outside cockpit, aicraft on ground or airborne, low or high revs... for onliners, all this means SONAR IS GONE !!!!! Never again the aircraft you're approaching from low six will break when you're ready to fire BECAUSE PILOT HEARD YOU.
This is the reason why this soundmod deserves its "ultimate" prefix, no other soundmod offers this feature, that has been expected since IL2 first version was played online.
My two eurocents... been a betatester for a year, so of course i'm biased, don't throw it at me please
