Looks real good - nice work. Will be nice to have her in her own slot... just like having the teardrop Spit in her own slot too...
But anyway, good work mate. Gotta love the Yaks.
Thank everybody for your support!
BTW, Mr. Jolly say hi will help with own slot but we have to be paiciant (wrong spalling , I know). Life is good

That is good news. Congratulations!
I was going to contact him and see what the policy was (as adding a bubble top would increase visibility slightly and could possibly be considered a cheat).
I did run some tests using the Yak-9 1942 cockpit. There is a problem in that the player POV appears in tail section. Do you know how to move the players viewpoint around? (I don't)

If it gets a new separate slot this is a non-issue. Maybe a small FM tweak is in order also because the cut-down -7B's were somewhat lighter than the standard "razorback" version (or shall i say "with gargrot"
).

Take a look at this. This one CF_D0 respons for a body position and a cockpit for 3d view. At last sentens with simbol // - very last digits is forward/back movement for the fuselage.
In cockpit hier.him it might be the same. Try.

I hope this will inspire someone to give the Yak cockpits a facelift too

Sorry for the delay, it took until now before I could make a second experiment.
I just finished editing Hier.him to move the // up one line and it seems to have worked for moving the players view (seems the correct coords were already there).
So, I now have the class file and *.him ready. How should I get them to you?

I have been dying for this particular mod ever since I laid eyes on the original Yak-7 first buying il2 so many years ago. Could I have some information on this particular plane/mod please?
Which aircraft will it replace (or will it eventually get its own slot courtesy MrJolly and my undying gratitude...in which case I'll wait for that before install since I'm way too ignorant to play around with beta mods too much)?
Which model is it based upon, the Yak-7A? Is it an armed trainer? Does it have a crewmember visible in the rear/instructor seat?
Umm...and anything else you can think of
Awesome mod, I love it!! (been saying that a lot around here)
- Radoye - 01.05.2008
It now replaces Yak-7B 1942. I certainly hope it will get its own slot so this is not the case anymore. It is (obviously) based on the -7B model with the PF engine, and it represents a late series machine with cut-down rear fuselage and teardrop canopy (similar in appearance to Yak-9) as opposed to the early -7B with PF engine that retained the standard Yak-7 canopy (what our Russian friends call "with gargrot").
It's a full blooded fighter plane, not a trainer, and does not have a second cockpit.
