CT, could you give me a "how to" for increasing the page size and expanding memory. I have had persistent problems opening FF's maps with my aging computer.

Anyone? Anyone?

For XP
You can increase the size of your page file if there is space available on the hard disk.
Logon as an Admin, hold down the Windows logo key and press Pause/Break to open System Properties.
Click the Advanced Tab.
In the Performance section click Settings.
Click Advanced Tab again.
In Virtual Memory section click Change.
Choose the appropriate drive in the first window. Below that choose Custom Size and increase the value in the Maximum Size(MB) box.
Click set, ok, and then restart your computer.
Cheers

EDIT: Googled page file and found this;
Code:
Virtual memory a.k.a. "swap file" "page(ing) file" is:
1- A file on your hard disk,
2- Used by the system (Windows) to store Physical memory (RAM) content when it (Windows) needs to make room for more content.
Therefore, it is:
3- Sensitive to available space on your disk (If your HD is almost full, Windows won't be able to expand that file to the size it needs).
4- Very sensitive to disk fragmentation,(more so if you use the FAT32 format).
So, if you have at least the minimum recommended RAM size for your Windows version, please DO increase the size of your Virtual memory to at least 2.5 times the size of your real RAM (256MB RAM = 640MB or more for virtual memory).
IMPORTANT: Setting the SAME Max. and Min. values to the virtual memory (and doing so after a disk defrag) (Min. size = 640MB AND Max. size = 640MB), will reserve that space for the file (even if your drive fills up, windows will have enough space for it) and, minimise fragmentation of the file, plus a noticeable speedup of startup and shutdown times.

No, it does its count down but the when click to dowload it say file not valid.
Thanks anyway. I do have this map in an old install and it works but when I copy it over to a back up UI I use to test mods before putting my good one, I copy the map folder and add the text to the ini but it wont come up. It show on my map list but wont load. Any ideas?

If it's not loading in FMB and you are just getting a blue screen press SHFT+TAB and this will bring up a heap of text, look for error messages down towards the bottom - line will generally start like "INTERNAL ERROR yada yada etc". This tell you what it is missing/having problems with while loading. You can then chase up whatever is missing/broke.

Does anyone here have this in thier UI? If so, its a good map and I'd like to get it to work. If theres a trick to this I like to know. Please

Hi mate!

But unluky would that I haven't solved my trouble with yours!!
Infact I have tryed to redownload it but the download link give (only for this file unfortunately) an address error after the last seconds wait in the share site!
Since when I try to load your map the game CTD always I'm afraid that can exist a what kind of error in the loading data.
I have tryed to add the downloaded texture but still CTD;
I have tried to download the version with more island..again CTD!!!
I have checked all the files into and the only 'aspect' I can think be wrong (but I'm a donkey in this field!!!!) is the water entry that search for a waterpacific file that doesen't exist...but neither if I rename water file like a dummy pacificwater solve the trouble!!
Can you help me please?
I hope to fly some late war mission over your map skies!!!
In the meantime I thanks for the time you'll expend even only reading my post!!!

walter
