The woods extending over rail-lines and roads isn't a problem...because vehicles and trains can move quite happily under the forest canopy..
FSM ...... this isn't the first 1:1 map...the Slot was that
I noticed several large towns have rail-lines passing through them....do you intend to create railway stations with sidings and railyards for them?
@Zorin ...on all maps...even the default ones...there is at least some repetition. To create a texture which doesn't repeat is very difficult and the creator of the 4.09 textures has posted here saying how much time was involved trying to lessen this effect.

POUTAAAAIN!
Well, I don’t know what that actually means, but French says it all time when something is very good.
I think that Maraz"s Malta was first 1:1 actually.

I noticed that in Perfect mode, the towns and cities do not have any of the forest=3 incidental trees that are normally present on other maps. Is there some way to activate them?
Also, the grey hangar object present on most airfields is a very early FB object with a short visibility distance. Maybe one of LaL_Rone's brilliant new types could be substituted instead...
Sorry if I seem like I'm picking. Your work is truly great.

Avala I think you are right about the Malta map..
and Bee .....I think that as a beta this was kept deliberately simple to install....by using R1's hangers it would need people to install that or have the files included in the pack...we know how custom stuff creates install headaches...as with Canon's beta

Bee, the random trees you see in forest=3 on standard maps in cities and villages are not "incidental". They are the "treeline" object placed by the map builder. Under forest=2 you see them just as they are (treeline) but under forest=3 they appear as the usual random trees which appear on cropfields etc. So to have trees in towns, the builder have to place them in the same way as any other normal objects. Asheshouse didn't place them because it will increase significantly the object count which is quite high already. Maybe he can achieve some compromise
though (I hope)?

Good point FF
Lowfighter, sorry for not being clearer. I wasn't talking about the non FMB object trees, but the fancy ones that wave in the breeze:
I think there was some way to put them on a map using rgb values, but I'm uncertain of the details.
Ash, I reckon swapping the order of the wood layers should get rid of the connifer look. I'll experiment with that this evening...

Bee, the only way I know to have trees in towns or villages (or more generally CLOSE to other "normal" objects like houses etc) is by placing the treeline object in map mode builder. Under forest=3 that treeline appears like the the trees which you showed in the shot above.
Sure you can have more trees in the OPEN fields by using either texture.tree.tga's or by using a certain rgb on map_c (tab flettner discovery).

Is anyone struggling with mediafire?
Seems to be ok to me when I access the download link.
Bee/Lowfighter -- trees in cities is something which I am afraid to add at the moment.
For the same reason I removed most of the fences and walls. I need to "manage" the object density if the total map is to be achieved successfully.
Another post mentioned railways. It is intended to add stations and sidings. I have some generic types already built , but that is a job for later.
Similarly I would like to add industrial areas. Again a job for later.
I have a significant problem addressing issues that relate to "perfect" trees, because I am only running in "excellent". Must upgrade
Zorin -- I agree with your comments on the texture repetition. Quite a lot has already been done to break it up, such as adding isolated woods, mixing three textures, etc, but it could still be improved in some areas. The large yellow field which repeats is the main culprit.
Maraz's Malta Map was the first of the new 1:1 maps -- We all follow in others footsteps.

Well, I don

I flew this now and I ran into a big problem.
4 fps max all over the map in Perfect mode. 50 fps in Excellent mode.
Anyone else having this problem??

NEW version Sedan2mission with more action
hock:

Thanks for the valuable info Lowfighter! I'm off to experiment...
- asheshouse - 14.07.2008
Zorin - no other reports of serious problems. Others have commented that they experience some FPS issues over the larger built up areas, but no worse than with the Slovakia map.
The map development is all being done on a low spec PC with low spec graphics capability.

Exactly

Whilst making my simple mission to get people started flying over the new map...I noticed that the Eastern bridge in Sedan will not allow vehicles to cross..
