That aircraft carrer America looks awesome. I'd sure like to land on that in IL2.
As for the Ranger, still working on it when I have time. I have a long way to go still.

I want to see the German carrier and that Bf-109 T. maybe we can get it done if we can assemble a group to make it. Big projects like that are hard to do alone.

Ahh, the Graf Zeppelin, that and german planes with tail hooks would be some preatty awsome mods... We need an Iowa BB, those played some very major roles in the pacific war... and also the Pennsylvania and New York classes, look at the pearl harbor map :O !
BTW, with all the new planes we have why do we not have the Swordfish and Lancaster yet... But plz, that's off-topic, only answer if you're answering the on-topic anyways :p.
transparent sub? - Pagan - 30.12.2008
Would it be possible to change a surfaced sub to a transparent texture except for a shadow or dark hull shape flat on the water? This could be used to simulate a submerged sub that would be destructible. I guess you would need to remove the deck guns also.
I might try this myself, but wanted to ask if the theory is sound before digging in.

That carrier really would be something special, would love to see that on the coral seas
- BADJuJu308 - 22.02.2010
yah the yamato or the musashi would be awesome
- asheshouse - 23.02.2010
Yes. It would be great to see more PTO ships.
-- but I would prefer to see a theme to the additions based on historical operations.
Completing the line up for the carrier forces at Midway would be an excellent start,
along with the cruisers subject to attack. Mogami Class Heavy Cruiser would be useful. One sunk at Midway. The other three went on to see action at Leyte in 1944.
IJN forces are (apart from the CV's) currently limited to Akizuki Class - destroyer, Kagero Class - destroyer
No heavy or light cruisers, no battleships, no seaplane carriers etc etc
To complete the big ship line up for the 1st Carrier Force would require:
Kaga CV (1 present)
Soryu Class CV (2 present)
Kongo Class BB (2 present)
Tone Class CA (2 present)
Nagara Class CL (1 present)
The USN forces are not much better represented (no Yorktown Class CV)
To complete the big ship line up for the USN forces would require:
Task Force 17
Yorktown Class CV (1 present)
New Orleans Class CA (1 present)
Portland Class CA (1 present - already modelled)
Task Force 16
Yorktown Class CV (2 present)
New Orleans Class CA (3 present)
Atlanta Class CA (1 present)
Northampton Class CA (1 present)
Pensacola Class CA (1 present)
The large carrier shown in the post above is a work of fiction and never existed, not even on the drawing board.
If you want a big carrier which did exist (briefly) try the Shinano, built on a Yamato class hull. --- but a light carrier would be much more useful for mission building I expect.
