Would definately need slot and FM. Could probably use the Lerche FM for starters.

I seem to remember that Captain America and his sidekick Bucky fought against Hitler and his dastardly out-of-control minion Red Skull. Should make an interesting infantry mod.

if it had fin on the bottom how did it take off? and also what is the point of the fin being on the bottom?

- highlander_262 - 20.04.2009

Fin was in normal position for take off and landing, only underneath durin flight to give gunner clear field of fire.

The fin assembly pivoted on its leading corner with the fuselage. It was in the raised position for ground manoevers and lowered in flight to facilitate the gunners field of fire. The rudder was therefore always at an angle - leaning forward.

How would it have been possible to move the tail around like that while flying without losing control of the aircraft?

The inverted tail design was used on the Me 334 and worked quite well. It didn't pose any real problems to my knowledge...

If you guys really wanted a super Allied plane, how about the XP-67 with Merlins and Westinghouse 9" jets or the XP-55 with the Sabre VII engine or the XP-72 or the XP-71 or the rocket powered P-78 Ram or the Spiteful or the P-38K or the XP-81 with the planned engine, just to name a few... LOL

My personal preference would have to be either the improved XP-67 bat with the Merlins and jets or the Sabre overhauled XP-55.

Personally my preference would be the so called "Super Tempest". Tempest V with a Rolls-Royce Eagle driving an 8 blade contra-prop. Was supposed to give 4,000 hp on emergency boost 8)

For some reason, I find myself envisioning huge numbers suffixed by the letters 'MPH' upon reading that figure...
