Very glad to read that Fly_Zo! Big Grin Don't hesitate to post a quick review at M4T...

By the way I plan to use the new textures by Compans for France, they render very well on your modded Normandy map. However I have an issue when using the load.ini suggestions by Compans, there is no more chalk/earth texture near the sea, so I need to rework something there, and produce a tailor-made load.ini. Maybe you have a suggestion?

Cheers,

Vincent

this is the texture slot for all beaches (Normandy maps )... so make sure you have right (desired) texture file listed there (in load.ini)

Water3 = water/rom_fields_Beach.tga

MAJOR UPDATE AVAILABLE HERE:

http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... ils&id=221

This update features new textures for the Normandy map, by Compans and GilB57. These are Compans' French textures with trees and bumpification by GilB57:

Upon request I have also made a couple of German campaigns for the Bf-109E-1, E-3 and E-4 during the Battle of France and the Battle of England:

So you can also fight over the Channel on the German side. This is included as a bonus, and is available as sub-campaigns within the German Fighter Center career.

Enjoy!

Vincent

Well, I am actually on the way to redo the French Wings campaigns, with new modded maps (for Africa in addition to Normandy) and especially new planes, both flyable (Blenheim, Spitfire Mk Vc FB, etc) and AIs (Bf-109E1, Spitfire Mk I, Swordfish, Sea Hurricane, 109 Trop versions, etc). This is already taking quite some time. There is a large number of new planes which actually are required in my campaigns for the MTO or early war operations, and for which I used fakes or close substitutes in previous versions, and I want to upgrade them with the proper stuff which is now available: quite many airplanes to replace and/or add! There will be also some corrections and fine tuning, to provide the ultimate DGen experience, as far as I can manage.

You may have noticed that for the first time I proposed above some sub-campaigns for the Luftwaffe, flying Bf-109 early versions during the Battle of France and Battle of Britain...

Thanks for the interest.

... may i suggest use of my old desert Crimea for some campaigns ? ( so it won't be just variants of sands of time )

anyways ....i'm looking forward to it very much

I may use your desert Crimea map for a Sicily campaign?

Actually I can use any Crimea modded map as long as it keeps the same location for airfields and towns as the stock one (even if names are different).

Hello,

sorry, but my english ist not good.
I want to install this great mod on my il2 1946 stock installation.

Are the next steps in the installaton correct?

Patch 4.08
UI Mod 1.1
UI Mod Patch 1.1.1
German Language Pack
Battle over Europe Addon
EnjoyR patch 4.9 for BOE
RAF modded campaigns
Normandy map with JSGME (for Battle of Britain and end of 1943:Fotress Europe)

Can i use IL Mat-Manager 2.36?

Hello Hardaway,

Don't worry we should be able to communicate. I saw that Juri_JS already helped you here in the German forum section, my thanks to him. I'll do my best also here.

I believe that your order of installation is correct, but please also install 4.09mb patch.

Do not forget also Boelcke's Channel Front modded campaigns, which you should install after EnjoyR patch, and JSGME.

Furthermore, some plane mods not included in UI 1.1 pack (and not in UI patch 1.1.1) are required, you should install them separately.

You need to make sure that the planes contained in UI 1.1 pack are working properly, plus you need to install the following plane mods:

Bf-109E-1, Bf-109E-3, Fairey Battle, Spitfire Mk XII, Mk XIVc, LF XIVe, Typhoon Mk Ib.

(Note: The other required plane mods should be included in UI 1.1: MOSQUITO B Mk IV flyable, Mosquito B Mk XVI, Tempest Mk V 11lbs et 13lbs, Hurricane Mk IId, Spitfire Mk I).

Once you have made sure that all these planes are operational and flyable in your QMB, you should have the add-on BOE (Battle Over Europe) installed, together with EnjoyR patch for BOE.

You should also install Boelcke's Channel Front Modded campaigns.

Finally before installing my campaigns, please install JSGME and use "JSGMEMODS" as the folder used by JSGME (type JSGMEMODS in the window when starting JSGME for the first time).

After that install my campaigns and enable with JSGME the mod providing the modded Normandy map, which you should disable when you don't play my campaigns.

Finally IL2 MAT Manager 2.36 is not only compatible with all of the above, it is highly recommended!

Happy flying!

Hi Vtrelut - great work on this campaign mod.
Maybe you can set me straight about something: Though I admire Compans' work tremendously, his new French textures look a bit odd to me. To my eye, there is a preponderance of dark ploughed fields (almost blue/grey) which I find hard to accept as northern France. I remember reading once about the fertile black-earth soils of Ukraine (chernozems?) and these keep coming to mind as I fly over Compans' version of France. The landscape looks so dark.

Geologically, I would have thought the soils of northern France would be similar to those of southern England (ie a light brown or red brown colour). As a Frenchman, can you tell me what your view is? If you say it's correct, then I'll believe it.
If it isn't right, can the tone of the offending field be altered?

This is making me drool! - Flying H - 27.06.2009

BUT where can I find Boelkes BoE these days? The Enjoyr patches are where I can find them but I don

- vtrelut - 27.06.2009

BOE is a payware add-on for DGen. I guess you can find it on the Net; look for the site of JustFlight, the editor.

EnjoyR patches are available at M4T, so are Boelcke's Channel Front modded campaigns, at the same page of the M4T site where my campaigns are available (DGen campaigns sub-section of the Specialised Downloads section at M4T, which is dedicated to mods).

I do not recommend it, but you may even try to install EnjoyR patch for BOE, plus Boelcke's Channel Front modded campaigns, plus my campaigns, and it may work, although it is not designed that way (please do that only if you cannot find BOE on the Net, which is possible since it is an old add-on; in that case make a backup of your DGen folder before, in case you encounter some problems).
