My ShipPack2 Download and INSTRUCTIONS - Dixiecapt - 26.06.2009
Nick and Craken Please Try This,
This is the Instructions, and Personal Download link for MY copy of ShipPack2. Cracken give this a Try because with this download, and it's Patch you DO NOT have to edit any .ini files. It does the correct edits for you. One of the steps will help you backup so you wont lose any files.
I originaly made this for my Squadron, but with the trouble you two are having with this I thought it was high time I shared it here to help people be able to play this Campaign.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THIS SHOULD WORK WITH ALL OF THOSE RUNNING UI 1.1
I suggest Patching your UI 1.1 so we all have the same STD folders. (I don't think this is Required, just recommended)
AAA UI 1.1 Patch:
(The link is inoperative)
OK
Step by Step... 5 Easy Steps
The Step before Step One...
Remove ShipPack1 from your MODS folder if you are using such.
STEP ONE!
DOWNLOAD the AAA ShipPack 2, and place ONLY the "ShipPack" folder that comes with such into your MODS folder. Don't worry about changing Anything! If you already have the ShipPack folder in your MODS folder from a previous attempt then you can skip this step.
AAA ShipPack2:
http://files.filefront.com/ShipPack2rar/;13794992;/fileinfo.html
STEP TWO!
Open you IL-2 game root, and find the MODS folder. Open up this folder and find the STD folder.
STEP THREE!
Make a BACKUP of your STD folder so you can UnInstall if you want! COPY of your STD Folder and PASTE it onto your desktop. (Or where ever!)
STEP FOUR!
DOWNLOAD the "MCVG ShipPack Patch" from the following link.
ShipPack Patch:
http://files.filefront.com/MCVG+ShipPack+Patchrar/;13838979;/fileinfo.html
STEP FIVE!
Open/Unzip the "ShipPack Patch" that you just downloaded and place the "ShipPack", and "STD" folders in your MODS folder.
Let it Over Write any previous folder. You have made a back up of your STD, and this ShipPack has an added skinned carrier for the KTO Campaign.
TO UNINSTALL
You can leave the "ShipPack" folder in your MODS folder, just replace the "STD" folder that IS in your MODS folder with the Backup Copy you saved in Step Two!
Filefront is moving slow this morning, but I checked both the Download Link for Shippack2 on Filefront, AND the Patch I made to make installation easy. Both worked fine but took a few minutes to pull up, so I don't want to hear how they don't work
- Mission_bug - 26.06.2009
I finally got the first mission to play, thanks to aaareg in the thread AI jets will not take off in FMB. Basically the Panther was not on an actual airfield when I opened the mission in the FMB so I had to put two stationary ships runways end to end and set the aircraft to them and away it went.
As far as getting ShipPack2 to work try Sir_Noppes Filespack_UI_1.1.1_ShipP2, it can be found in the WIP-BETA-MODS DOWNLOAD section about half way down under the title Filespack for clean install UI 1.1.1 and ShipPack2.
Basically what I did is looked in my com folder in the STD folder and found what was missing, in my case the Chief.ini.
This was copied and pasted into my com folder to join the others there. I then added manually the text indicated in the ShipPack to the end of the ships.ini, technics.ini and stationary.ini.
In my STD folder again I did not have the file Technics in the i18 folder along with the other ru_properties files so added that.
The ShipPack itself was pasted into the MODS folder.
It worked for me but it depends on what other mods you have so I only copied complete files that I knew I did not have and added text to the others.
Hope this helps in some way.
All the best, Pete.
ok - will give this a go later today. appreciate your hard work and help.
as i say - it looks a great mission.
- nick11 - 27.06.2009
ok - success. sort of.
the mission works. however i am suffering the most incredible lag whenever that new aircraft carrier is in the frame.
all other ships seem to work as normal, however the main carrier is laggy to the point it don't work.
as soon as i take off and move away from the carrier the game is as normal.
I played three missions yesterday, very nice by the way, but today I'm back at mission 1. Any idea why missions won't save???
- Dixiecapt - 27.06.2009
Christof - that is an issue that had been discussed in the map thread in some detail, seek your answers there.
Nick - My advice is to open up each mission in FMB, and change CVL-30 in each mission to one of the stock CVE's from IL-2. (I really don't have time to do such right now because of my summer classes)
Keep shippack2 turned on though because alot of the other vessels in the inchon landings are from it.
p.s. another fix might be playing with your video settings *Shrug*, sorry you having such a hard time.
- KDrake5 - 27.06.2009
Hey all.
DixieCapt, this is truly an amazing campaign. I know a lot more about this conflict now. But there's a problem: on the Inchon landing mission (or pre-landing, I don't know) the mission gets almost 100% loaded until it says something like "mission load failed: Mesh/3do/Russian Paratroopers or something not created"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much ,I'll check it out!
- JimC - 27.06.2009
Great campaign but when I went to play one of my Japanese campaigns most of my markings for Japan are now North Korean, how can I fix this.
Cheers JimC
- nick11 - 27.06.2009
the campaign is brilliant. best ever perhaps. well thought out and narrated.
i would change the type of carrier but i am one of those having problems saving on this map.
odd that my computer doesn't like this carrier. it's fine with all other new ships in ship pack 2.
- JimC - 27.06.2009
Still can't workout how my Japanese aircraft markings have become North Korean markings. When I select JA or IN as a country in QMB I now get North Korean markings instead of Japan. Would like some advice on this as now I can't play my Japanese campaigns or missions without getting the wrong markings, I don't recall this side effect being in the readme, please help.
Cheers JimC.
- nick11 - 28.06.2009
jim - have you downloaded the franken -mig-15? as i recall i had the same problem until i removed it.
it seemed to turn all jap markings to north korean ones.
- JimC - 28.06.2009
Yes I have nick11, I will remove this and try again,thanks for the heads up.
- JimC - 28.06.2009
I deleted my MiG 15 folder from my MODS but now my game crashes at 70% while loading, no problems before so not sure why.
Solved problem, just needed to disable paintschemes folder in Mig 15 folder. Rodger over and out.
