Did you install the mod activator on a FRESH, CLEAN, UNMODDED copy of 4.10m?
That means no mods at all.
No UP w/ 4.10m
No HSFX w/ 4.10m
Just the plain, unaltered out of the box version of the game.

I did not delete anything, uninstalled il2 which had HSFX and UP, reinstalled, and patched to 4.10. Could the mods have stayed, I thought uninstalling would have deleted them.

Yes, that's almost certainly the reason your game is crashing.
You can't install it over an old copy.
You have to completely uninstall, delete the old directory and then install the new version of the game.
The reason this has to be done is due to the old .class files. A lot of them no longer work with 4.10m.

I haven't finished the self installer for 4.10.1 yet due to a hardware failure.
Just got me new drives in today and currently working on my install/recovery.
4.10 and 4.10.1 are not compatible with regards to the mod activator.
But in answer to your question, YES, 4.10.1m activator will include 6Dof.

I got your 4.10m Generic Mod Activatr to work with the 4.10.1m
fix patch. How ever I did install t into a clean 4.10.1m folder.
I then added the SAS Mod Objects folder into the Mods folder
as per install read me. I added the Bomber Pits, add some of the
MapMods and Zuti v1.2Beta MDS with the Spawn Place Holder and every thing works fine. Adding the MapMods was a little bit different
when installing them. However I got every thing working.

Where do I get the 410.1 patch? I was playing in hyperlobby before. I have a different puter and I have gotten the game up and running again but i can't play there because they are using 410.1.
