Ranwers what is the install proceedure for this patch then get mods working ?

Simply....

You need files.SFS in ru version.

remember i have english version

so exactly what do i do step by step please

i have tried allready and the game either dont update to 4.09 or it freezes

are you saying we need russian files.sfs ? if so can you upload it to filefront

Jolly, just copy files from 4.09 in RU version without:

Quote:- mg_snd_sse.dll
- mg_snd.dll

Now You have russian version (4.08 ) in english language
Remember - only russian version is modding.

PS files.SFS have ~ 21.5 MB. I can upload for You.

So, whats the official position, are we going to mod 4.09? If I read wasy correctly it seems he is opposed to modding new version? I don't know if modding 4.09 is a good idea myself....

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Install IL2 Game 1946 4.08m

2. Install sound-mod or mod activator

3. Install 4.09 Beta patch
when asked to overwrite the following files say NO
DONT INSTALL - mg_snd_sse.dll
DONT INSTALL - mg_snd.dll

4. Install (The link is inoperative) ranwers 'files.sfs' (russian files.sfs) Overwrite your own copy

5. Run game

One more: in filelist.txt must be:

//maps/all.ini

or someone must add new maps.
