Wonderful Jolly. Can my Ju-188 get this kind of lovely new slots too? Like: Ju-188, armanent 3 x SC-1000 or 1x torpedo? I'll get the data out of my Holy German Bombers Bible.

You see - we have been working on this and other FMs for weeks and long nights and I have to tell you that it's sometimes a really frustrating experience to see behind the magical curtain.
You start to understand why some planes behave different to historical data and what little mistakes lead to these missbehaviors.
For the Spit I our big goal was to match the plane to the enviourment it will fly and fight in; this game.
Jolly is right - some performence figures at Spitfireperformence.com are at least strange.
Faster top speeds and climb then our ingame MkVb.
Other sources have it entirely different and our problem now was to nail a FM that would not only match historical figures but also behave and "feel" as expected by players of this sim .
To make a long story short I think we have a great Spitfire Mk Ia now.
It flys like the plane you have all read about and have flown in other sims like BoBII WoV.
The beautifull thing about modding is ofcourse that nothing is locked in stone.
Once it is released and anyone finds drastical mistakes there is always the chance of a revision by the team.
As we would be working for a feasible outcome in such a discussion I think the chance for a catfight ala the Ubi forums is slim.
PS
For all blue players fearing that the majority of the mod team are from former Allied countries let me tell you that the only thing we crave is historical accuracy.
That and the fact that I'm german ofcourse.
So put the "

If the real thing is different of what we have in the game, so correct it, and if it is more eficient against one defined plane.... that's ok and cool. but don't try to put absolutly what is more effective in game, despite unrealistic in real thing....
This would be beginning of the end, o r at least, counter productive.
Don't confuse make the game more realistic and make it more usefull for your own plane against one particular plane.....
That's what i made in my own weapon mod, and i think it is that it will happen in AAA weapon tweaking. too.....
I am with Josse here... please keep it historical...
Also incorporating a full "weapon mod" that makes historical weapons for all aircraft would not be that bad ....
Maraz
So true. Maybe for the future a whole new mod using historical data for weapons and FM/DM's. Now that the door is open . I know it would be a BIG project.

will be tha aileron-lock be present at high speed, like the horizontal-lock on the 109?

We already have a A2, it's called A4 in the game, but our A4 seems a little bit "pregnant" compared to a 190A2...that could outdive, out-accelerate in horizontal,out-maneuvre and outclimb a spit5b.
Ps: the A1 was a field-test serie,not a roll-out model.

I don't think it is the good way to do weapons modifications......

In general, I agree with you Josse, but my comment was referring to the fact that Spit MkI ammo belts were so variable (dependent on individual pilot preference) that it's hard to be definitive about what is historically correct. In real life pilots would instruct their armourer to alter the belts to suit whatever they personally felt was better against bombers or fighters, so one might conclude it would be OK to use the same process here - especially as the Spit Mk1 is somewhat under-gunned compared to early 109s and has a less concentrated cone of fire than a Hurricane Mk1 (which has its brownings in two groups).
