I noticed something yesterday when I was doing some stuff:-
I installed using winmerge and copied across all off the relevant entries (so this may not apply to those that just go with the shippack 2.0 ini files .)
I found that the two Italian cruisers where not available as stationary ships. Added them in and they are fine but it may be an accidental omission from the 'to add to' stationary ini file ?

I finally got this baby downloaded using Firefox !! Rapidshare is an absolute nightmare !!
After reading these posts i'm a bit concerned about installing it, I know how to edit .ini's etc but i've had 70% CTD's to often with these mods and wonder if one of you guys could post a 'walk through' with this one ??
Do we leave the existing ini entries for Shippack1 in place - I notice one 'add in' has an \\\\\\EOF ? should this be pasted over or not ?
I'm assuming the best way is to copy my existing 'ini's - add the new entries - then use winMerge to 'merge' the new ones into my existing ones ??
Thanks

For anyone with the Static_AC Mod...you must change your stationary and technics .ini files in that fodler to get the ShipPack to work. Finally worked for me.

And thanks for this one! I was trying everything I could think of but didn't think to search in other mod folders for some of these files... so thanks again Graf mate!

Thanks for that heads-up Graf
Presumably you need to merge the entries in these files?
Also, to sum up - users experiencing problems are those with the existing ship pack 1, but new users have relatively trouble-free installation, right?

I can confirm this installs easily into the UI version, I left the Technics/Stationary files in the Static_ac folder and put the rest in the STD folder. All now show up as seperate section in my FMB objects.
I doubt it would have gone as smoothly in my old installation with Shippack 1, but the new files/MODS folders in UI handle it easily.
PS, Can someone explain why we still have 2x il8n folders ?? one in files and one in the main il2 folder ????

Im with U Ace... I have tried and tried but cant seem to get it past the 70% mark but I must addmit that I am not the most computer savy person out there. So if anyone can clear this up for me I just want to get this strait. There are 2 folder that need to go into a differant folder? The Technics and Stationary files need to go into the static ac folder (as in mods ac folder?) then the rest go into the STD folder in the MODS folder? If its that easy please let me know and I will try it again.

got the same problems - crash at 70% with the unified mod installer installation, tried all the things stated in the postings before, but no way; the only way to start IL2 ist to delete the chiefs.ini but in that case the ship pack 2.0 isn

Judging from the replies so far in this thread, there seem to be zero problems with the mod itself, and lots of problems with the installation method.
So, is it not time to make this an official mod with an .exe? Surely the Beta process is not about verifying the installation?
I'd like to use this modification with some of the campaigns I am currently creating. The only barrier to using it at the moment is the intricate installation method. Unless this is resolved, the excellent work done by FC and Archie isn't much use to mission builders.
