The CW21 is included in the coming official 4.09 patch I think if you look at the preview on SImHQ.
No idea if Team Daedalus also have the Devastator though ? , or if Oleg would give them permission to 'officially' develop it after what happened ?...It woudl be great to see it though wouldn't it !

New Beaufighters would be awesome - this strike aircraft hasn't exactly been well represented on combat flight sims down the years. the tbd would certainly fill the gap in midway. Personally though i'd rather see a D4Y Judy or two - that plane served with the IJN from 1942 (as recce aircraft at midway) until the very end of the war in august 1945; a lot longer than the tbd by about 4 years!! along with the a6m5 zero they were the commonest kamikaze aircraft by far - and specialist models were even factory built for this purpose. it virtually replaced the d3a val by mid 1943.
can't believe an ai version was left out really, but it seemed 1c built all us planes first then just run out of time with the japs.
whats so great about the judy? - glbellairs - 14.09.2009

Just because the judy served longer dosen,t mean its as good as the devastator the judy couldn,t carry torpedeos and it was knot carrier based and the davastator served until 1944 for your information there for the devastator has a right to be in the game!

The TBD Devastator is a legendary torpedo plane more for its infamous failure at Midway than its success.. In reality only 129 of them were delivered to the US Navy which actually surprised me quite a bit. They were being phased out pre war and were phased out very shortly after Midway.. they did NOT serve until 1944..at least not in combat roles.

I meant until 1944 in training groups!

But the TBD was successful up to Midway. Examples were Marshall Island Raids (Torpedo malfunctions not the aircraft), Attacks over the Owen Stanley Mountains to Lae and Salamau from 40 miles off Port Moresby and as part of the Coral Sea Battle.
FYI the D3A Val was in service in 1945. Capt. Shomo on a low recce mission shot down a D3A "Val" in his F-6D in Northern Luzon, Phillipine Islands on January 10th 1945. On January 11th C apt. Shomo shot down six Ki-61's escorting one G4M "Betty" and also the "Betty" and his wingman shot down three more of the Ki-61 escorts.

Do you guys think that Team Daidalos can finish this one and add it to the game??
