The idea of the german chopper is pretty cool!
+1
Personally I would prefer a Korean War Sikorsky H-19, I love how it looks! But if you decide to make the german one, its still awsome to get an early helicopter.

Even if it were just Ai (was it said before?) it'd complete the Korea Theater just that much more
But I think I just saw somewhere here it was said that making an Ai vs flyable wasn't much different. (The B-26 Marauder thread actually. )
Tho I also agree with another poster, finally a good use for the Lerch.
I can really see this in Korea :

Believe it or not, the R-4 and Fa 223 went opperational and were used in WWII.

Since we already have the Sikorsky R-4 model, are there any plans to carry on with the helicopter?
Or has Canvas Knights and Korean War taken over?
Has Slow managed to get a proper FM?
Because it seemed like there was something being prepared, but now there are tons of work with Canvas and Korea. So if this is dead please let us now because helicopters would bring a hole different aspect to IL-2 maybe a more tactical one. Maybe its imposible becuase of the FM but if they can breake the sound barrier on Sabres and Mig 15, why not early helicopters?
Kindest Regards!

"It's Impossible" Is the most false statement mankind has ever contrived. The question is: How hard will it be and will it be worth it? Personally I'd love to see these helos for carrier-based operations, delivering supplies, medivac, or insurgents on beachheads at night, while trying not to get shot down or detected, there's a mission.
The primary role for Helos today is gunship support and submarine warfare, they did have homing torpedoes in WWII, but I think those would recquire some advanced coding to make work, not to mention that submarines (hideously) are just ships with a parascope model. Perhaps that can be worked somehow...
But for now, just medivac and gunships.

Personally I would love to see a nam iroquois complete with gunner. The lercher works because it still has conventional controls of a plane, the problem with making a heli is that they use different controlls, through the blades and tail rotor. If its possible you could put in "invisible" controll surfaces under the rotors to direct it.
But I love the idea and would love to fly it if it works.
