hero Wrote:The loudness is due to the fact that when I started modding sound it was around the time of the .09,.92 sound mods which were loud , as for the distortion , well there is none on mine , nor my bro's or my mates systems , a fix would be to get yourself an audio editing system , there are loads of eazy to use inexpensive ones avi on the interweb.
Finally, I did it, I found the solution. No need for lowering sounds. I went to Hardware setup and disabled extensions. The sound is now just like in your video. Except for the machine guns. They don't sound loud enough now but I can live with that and I'm sure that will be solved when new sounds come out.
By the way, you're sounds rock.

hetzer73 Wrote:i have a little problem with your superb sound mod...
i have read all you instructions in the readme and applicated them. But i still have a cartrige boom at start up and the external sound in flight is too clear and not loud enough like in your video. the sound from inside is perfect...
could you please help me fixing that ?
for info i got the unified installer.
many thanks !

Great DB605 sounds, very good indeed, thanks!!! However I have the same behaviour as hetzer73 does. Which are the files when you press F2 and F3? I can increase the volume myself.
Thanks,

My suggestion is to apply the sound setting Jafa uses. It is contained in the conf.ini he posted inside his UI 1.1 soundmods:
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=9264 ... 92345876a0
I did it and it works wonders. Before I had indeed this loud distorted sound but basically as mentioned before turning off all hardware extensions is one good part of obtaining the true Jafa sound....and by the way you don't loose anything as the old Il2 machine doesn't use all those fancy EAX 3.0 , CMS surround sound and other toys. Tuning down the number of channels to 16 as mentioned in Jafa's conf.ini helps a lot too.
Once again, many thanks to Jafa for those great soundmods (try the others too not only the 109!)
This totally transformed my gaming experience
Continue to send us more of your great work : the new Jug sound for example
Cheers,
Eckhart

were do you get your beautifule warter/dirt coloms?
- Flanker35M - 24.06.2009
S!
I dropped channels to 16 and there was an improvement. Will dig into this conf.ini too when at home again. I really like Jafa's sounds, so much waiting for more of them

Happy to know that it works....Jafa's sounds are the BEST! and it really changes your level of immersion....I can't wait for his new sounds and the new buttons which will enable the P51 sounds in UI 1.1.1!!!
Now looking into the presets (e.g. the Packard Merlin prs), I found some lines regarding the EAX function:
[common]
mode relobj pos
type mixer
infinite 1
EAXMix 0.95
occlusion -9
occllf 0.25
eaxroom 0.5
obstruction -7
obstrlf 0
mutable 1
So does this that we should enable EAX and put the hardware soundflags on 1?
Cheers,
Eckhart

Wonderful stuff, Hero/Jafa :!:
One OT question - which prop mod are you using? It looks good.

I downloaded the UI 1.1 sound mod, backed up my files folder and installed the new files folder, and installed my old buttons file. Game starts fine and I get all the sounds except for the Me 410 engine sounds. Anything I should know?... I have read this post from front to back several times. I still have yet to see an conf.ini file for these new sounds. I love the Corsair, and Hellcats, the Jug however still sounds very distorted with this sound mod just like it did with the old sound mod, I ended up with the old one copying the 2800 and renaming it 2800tb, and that was better.
thanks for the hard work man, I really appreciate the efforts.

re-did the whole thing, still no sounds for the Me-410's, I have 110, and 210 sounds. Any ideas on what's going on with this?
- hero - 05.07.2009
Hello mate , make a copy of the db605 Prs , rename it to 603 and then replace the old db603 prs with this one and you should have your sounds back for the 410 ect.
Jafa.

Hi Jafa. Do you think would it be possible to launch a great pack with the whole your sounds? When U.I.1.1 compatibility is ready?
We love your work, but there are several packs along the Net and is a little nightmare to get all working like in your fantastic videos.
Thanks in advance.
Willy.

I just went through all the Jafa sound mod files and there is no db605.prs, only 600, 601, 603 and 700 series prs files. Where would I find a db605.prs series file? I believe the problem might be in the preload that's in the download.
