Re: Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird For VSF - Deutschmark - 25.06.2013

That's nothing new its been that way all along I remember when VSF first came out and rivnut complained about it saying he had to give his plane 2 times the HP and thrust to get it to fly at its right speed, I even complained about it many times but nothing was ever done about it and I don't think anything will ever be done about it, Ilan use to say so long as the interments say its going the right speed that's all that matters.
Look here, this is my F-14 flight model done by Ilan and to get it going at the right speed even he had to give it more thrust then it should have.

/// F-14 Tomcat

airplane [type]
1 [exp_control]

1 [has_engine]
jetab [engine_type]

550815.00 [max_thrust]
5000.00 [rpm_max]
9000.00 [fuel_time]
14000.00 [max_altitude]

-------------------------------------------------------

So its not you or anything you have done its VSF and the way it works.

Re: Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird For VSF - kostas - 03.07.2013

DM, another problem
searching the internet about the blackbird i did not found if it has flaps (spoilers is impossible because i think that they appears later)
indead looking the image of the pilot panel in the internet i did not saw a flaps handle.
But because the speed of the plane in VSF it is difficult to landing the plane. So i decide to add flaps in vehicle.cfg (i saw that the spoilers are added in game by default). and so i can decrease the speed for landing. (i prefer to use spoilers and not flaps)
but i did not like to use flaps or spoilers without to have an external movement of a part
so i decide to cut a part of the wings and to use the upper part like spoilers and the down part like flaps as in the image below. The flaps works fine in the game but not the spoilers. I see a minimum movement of the spoiler with the "S" key but i cannot increase that even if changing the axles.
i saw in your planes that the spoiler work fine. is something which i must add in vehicle.cfg file?

Re: Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird For VSF - Deutschmark - 03.07.2013

When I was making some planes that did not have flaps or air brakes I just put them in the vehicles cfg and the game makes like they are there and slows the plane down for landing but I had no moving parts as the real planes did not have any.

Re: Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird For VSF - kostas - 04.07.2013

i got it!!! thanks DM, now the airbrakes (and not spoilers) works perfectly

EDIT
(Another thing. i add a trim handle , i named the mesh trimh, but in game it moves a little bit forward and backward
did you know why and how i can fix that?) DELETE IT, i solve that

Re: Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird For VSF - danim - 05.07.2013

have a look at this for info
http://www.sr-71.org/blackbird/manual/

also have a look at the diagrams

Re: Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird For VSF - kostas - 05.07.2013

thanks Danim
i have been looking this manual, i think was two weeks ago, i have read the instructions, but i did not found something for flaps or air brakes
Anyway, for the game i add them as in the image above Smile

Re: Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird For VSF - Fireskull - 05.07.2013

Kostas,

One time I saw an image of a Blackbird with a breaking chute (it looks like a parachute) deployed on landing, but I doubt if it was standard equipment. VSF does support a chute, though somebody like Deutschmark would have to help you.

Clinton, you mean that:

yes the parachute was standard equipment for those planes.

thanks Danim. Now i take a look of this manual
