Hi all!
Too bad you couldn't latch onto the models from the abandoned Target for Tonight sim, but that was back several years ago. I found a site [
http://www.lavaproductions.com/LAVAGallery.html] that shows the Lanc from it but looks like the site hasn't ben updated in several years also.
Would be nice to have British bombers and nightfighters.
Been a while since I've been on any forum so I apologize if I screwed up the link.

You know as an old time night-fighter, the mods on this sight are a real coup. Now that I can make the AI keep their lights off at night, anything is possible. One thing that's always bugged me is that in the real war night bombers rarely relied on machine-guns to fend off nightfighters, instead they would use the "corkscrew turn" to slip out of sight. I've actually found that the B25-G does indeed do this when approached by enemy bombers. Maybe it would make a good FM for the Lancaster?

Bumpety bump. I missed this discussion, but, REALLY want the Lanc in.
- Lt.Wolf - 05.04.2008
any one suggested using the engines from the tempest or at least the air intake/beard

Does anyone else remember the "Target for Tonight" project that was being developed for IL2 but then died a quiet death?
I recall seeing pictures of a Lancaster that appeared fully 3D modeled, at least externally.
I have had a quick look on the net but cannot find any trace of it now.
Anyone know what happened to it?
A great pity.

Wouldn't it be easier chaps to mod the Pe-8 as a Short Stirling Mk.I/III to start off with?
You could use the engines from the Beau, maybe the wings from the B-17, mod the turrets from the B-24..........tail.........not sure about that one and add that to a 'New Slot' 1st as you'll already have something to start with or shall I sod off and go away lol
Be easier then making a plane afresh
The Lanc - RAF_Sharkzz - 07.04.2008
oooooooooooooo yesssssssssssssssssssssss pleeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzz
reckon a franken plane is the go with a B24 FM, also for four barrel rear turret, can you just superimpose on eachother with slight offset 2 x B24 rear turrets that way you get your four guns. the rear turret will sit in a Pe8 date nicely too. now all we need is a 5000 pounder remodelled as a great big 44 gallon drum to skip.
while we are on the Lanc wish list , LOL we also need a few nice Dams done .
don't think any of this will happen though.
