It would be great if you made it work with MAT manager. That way you could use Israeli insignia, allied Italian, Fascist post 1943 Italian etc.
- ILV_Aquila_Noctis - 12.04.2008
I didn't think of using MAT-Manager, but of using the way MAT works to find out where to put the roundels
But I used the Roundels from MAT for my tests - that had no success
@ Gaston: I'll send you the files asap!
And THIS is the names of the countries:

-de Luftwaffe

Actually, in the NEI the Air Force was known as the ML-KNIL (Militaire Luchtvaart- Koninklijk Nederlands-Indisch Leger), and in Holland as LVA (Luchtvaartafdeling); the Naval Air service was (and still is) the MLD (Marine Luchtvaart Dienst)
One further country suggestion:
hr Croatia, already in 4.05 mod.
- ILV_Aquila_Noctis - 12.04.2008
Gerrit, I looked at wikipedia's list of Air Forces, and that is the name I found there for WW2....
Gaston, I tried snding you a Mail, but ATM my E-Mail-Client seems to be at war with me, he doesn't accept my password for the Send-server...the Mailbox-password is the same, ant it is accepted there.. :?
EDIT: Solved da problem, sent da Mail :o

Woaw, Aquila Noctis... what a job !!!
I love it !!!
But I think that letting countries names is more clear, and easier for peoples who do not have language skills... also, if you take the example of Romania, you have the same name whether it is Allied or Axis sided...
And I will go to check mails ASAP !!!
- ILV_Aquila_Noctis - 12.04.2008
Ahh, Gaston, I received the next stage of the mod...and I reccomend one thing: Let's stay with these countries as long as we don't have markings, d'accord?
I will look up the names of the new countries and change them, ans you could include both sets of names in the Download, so one can choose which one they want...

Gaston - 12.04.2008
Good idea, mon ami !!!
I will do alternate files... once I have your new list !!!
- ILV_Aquila_Noctis - 12.04.2008
So, I am back home, and as soon as I have reconfigured my E-Mail-Client (still at war with me I'm afraid) I'll make the new list and send it to you.
- wingflyr - 12.04.2008
ILV_Aquila_Noctis ,Gaston ,Great job to the both of you M8s. Your probably going to make a lot of people from all over very happy with your efforts. Cheers.

In the early post-war period, the Dutch Air Force in Holland was known as LSK (Luchtstrijdkrachten); the NEI used ML-KNIL until 1950, when the KNIL was disbanded following Indonesia's independence. Not until the early 1950s (1953 if I recall correctly) was the term "Koninklijke Luchtmacht" used.

Hi all
This looks to be a great mod, surely to be appreciated by many.
Just one little gripe from me, there's no sign of the SAAF in the list. The South African boys were pretty heavily involved in WW2, especially in the North African campaign. Any chance they could be included in what otherwise seems to be a pretty comprehensive list....?

I think that markings for, at least some of the altermative countries, can be found in IL2 Mat Manager.
Can't these makings be used already?
Royal Greek Air Force or Helleniki Bassiliki Aeroporia as an option?
-
Gaston - 12.04.2008
The beta V1 is available !!! South Africa is not in this one. But I am working on V2, which includes South Africa !!!
But I still can't find a solution to use the markings... someone told me that it ios necessary to know Java to modify some files, which is unfortunately not my case !!!
Anyway, work continues.
Now, I have included Norway, Greece, Brazil, Sweden, South Africa, Yugoslavia, Denmark, Philippinas on red side, and Bulgaria and Croatia on blue side (as you can see, elephant, Greece is not an option but a reality now !!!).
All countries are flyable and can be used in FMB and QMB.
Works still goes on !!! I have looked in some MAT files of the Mat-manager, but I must confess that I do not understand them... for the moment !!! I hope to understand them soon... but I do not think that they are the solution to make markings appear on planes... unfortunately !!!
Aquila... I also have prepared alternate files with the names of the air forces instead of the countries !!! It works perfectly, except that the names of some forces are quite too long...
Here is the list in its actual state :

WOW!!!
hock:
this is sooo cool!

Thanks a lot gaston!
I have to say that the term
Polemiki Aeroporia is correct for Post 1974 Greek-Hellenic Air Force.
The correct term for WWII era is
Helleniki Bassiliki Aeroporia or
Helleniki Vassiliki Aeroporia, meaning Royal Greek-Hellenic Air Force.
