Hot Space Wrote:For some reason I'm getting no sound at all with the P-38.
Is it because I'm useing the latest sas button file m8 as I've tried everything I know?
Thats probably why. Im using the UI with normal buttons, im not using the SAS buttons.
Bob Holmes Wrote:I think I successfully downloaded. Mention is made of "presets". Can you tell me what they are, and where they are located so I can disable them?
Thanks
Use your noggin, and read the read me.
The_Psy Wrote:Just to tell you that your preset files are leading to the wrong startup.wav and starter.wav. It should be "Allison_tb_XX_Starter.wav" and not "Allison_XX_Starter.wav". (same for startup)
Doesn't matter, the buttons file needs to be modified in order to use the new start ups, I do realize they are wrong. I'll chibi up an Buttons modder so they can be fixed for the next AC installer. Then the 38's and some other aircraft will have their own start up sounds.
Alright people. Im gunna upload it to Megaupload, will be the final link. They all work for me and some others. I dont know the problem. Unfortunatly the problem is probably with your internet. Not my download providers.

In Cockpit Eng Sounds - Pedro - 07.09.2009
Hi Cipher,
Please accept my thanks for a great job. I am really enjoying the new sound and for the 1st time I can even hear the supercharger. One question. The in cockpit sound seems a bit to low. I'm not sure if I can control that or if it is preset. It seems that with two big Allisons next to you that the sound would be more pronounced, especially when you go from idle to full power. Again, thanks for the hard work and making IL2 an even better experience.
Pedro

I'm also using SAS buttons and the interesting this is, that the sound works perfectly... in P-63, but it doesn't work in the 38
Anyway, on my other UI install it works perfect.
Great job, thank you very much!

Thank you HH_Cipher for new nice sounds
what I have done not to complicate the hell out of install by having to backing up .wav files when wanting to test sounds is
just creating new folder ( I named that folder P-38NewSound ) then opened your files folder after unzipping and copied
these two presets and sounds folders in to my newly created P-38NewSound folder .
Now it is a mod .
All that remains to be done is to drop that new folder in to game main mod folder just like every other mod next to all
other mods and this new folder will be used by game first for P-38J , L , Late sound without having to change anything else .
If some don't like it , then just removing newly created P-38NewSound mod folder from game main mod folder is
all that it takes and game will use again previous sound during sounds loading .
No need for touching anything else , no backing up presets and sounds files .
It's absolutely not complicated and easy for those who are not much into files structure and backing up various presets and .wav files .
Thank you again for very nice P-38 sound !!
S! HG

Just bare in mind these where made in UI 1.0. Im not intending to upgrade to any other version of UI. But thus all (if I make any more) of my sounds mods will be UI compatible. Just remember they do not work well with the SAS install.
Thanks for all the nice feedback on my first mod. Im happy it didnt turn into a disappointment
