When flying MiG, AI Sabres seem also too quick. The whole problem is , that AI is flied by computer, i.e. better than any human being in any situation. This was discussed earlier both here at AAA and elsewhere.

It is really no match for it. Ive flown in QMB and AI is extremly annoying me flying away from my sabre, while my engine is heavily overheating. That just does not feel right IMO. USAF had better scores than the North Koreans throughout the war, and that would be impossible with these performances of these jets. Well, im off to shooting down Yaks until F-86E arrives
In one of PeterD's other postes on the Sabre and MiG he does say that he made a mistake with the Sabre in that he accidentaly installed the wrong engine in the Sabre when he sent the info to AAA. It was supposed to be the more powerful one. He is working to get that fixed, but when that will be is going to be between Pete and AAA.
For now i would suggest doing what the Sabre pilots did then. Use the advantages of the Sabre against the disadvantages of the MiG. The Sabre can dive quicker than the MiG because of the MiGs "auto speedbrake". It cannot go over Mach in a dive and the Sabre can. Use that to your advantage. It can be done. I've managed to get several MiGs that way.

He has since said that he thought he gave the wrong engine file in but in truth he didn't. Also the Mig-15 bis is a year or 2 later than the F-86A, and you know what a models are like.... It should way underperform compared to the MiG even the E's and F's have worse performance than the MiG-15bis i'm pretty sure....

Ok after some more reading on this subject (on sick leave lol) I agree that these models may be accurate. I was at first shocked by the sheer amount of pwnage the migs delivered upon my boys in sabres (and reversed). I guess the main problem is AI. It has godly engine that can be put to 110% for hours and not burn out. It can never actually shoot me down but can run forever in a fight 1 on 1. I remember in some older version (think it was when Aces expansion came out) AI was just about perfect. It used to turn fight more and break to sides, making up for its unburnable engine. I remember when I managed to shoot down a Me262 with PZL p.11.
I noticed one weird thing that happens when flying the Mig. When I yank the throttle too much it is prone to falling in a perfect unrecoverable spiral spin. I dont think it was possible IRL for a plane to fall in such a perfect way straight to the ground, nose pointing to the side. Guess its fault of the game engine, but it never happened to me on another plane.
I am not criticizing, just want this mod to be best possible when it becomes final. Thanks again for this great mod!

The spiral spin is recoverable that it goes into, due to my keyboard flying I went into one about 5 times when i started and now I don't do it anymore, power the plane down to 0, roll the direction it's spinning and pull or push (don't remember which 1 I use now but both do work) and apply opposite rudder, after a while it'll level out facing downwards then power up and pull out.

The FM disparity is pretty accurate.. remember that the "bis" part of the Mig15bis is for "improved" The F-86A5 is the earliest combat version of the Sabre. In this particular case, an F-86F-30 vs. the Mig15bis would have been a far more balanced set of AC to release. The FM's of those two are very close in terms of Combat Ceiling and Climb Rate compared to the earlier numbers.

Firstly shouldn't the MiG-15bis have landing lights? It is there on the skin but it doesn't seem to have it.
Secondly the gear doors on the Sabre stay open whilst the gears are down. I found this picture of a Sabre taking off to do a display at an airshow and you can see all it's gear doors are closed.

The F-86A5 is really a joy to fly ! However, I've noticed this strange thing:
Somebody has an idea of the cause of this ?
Many thanks,
Philippe

Are you using UI 1.2? Are you using any sort of modded sabre? Was the rudder neutral when you took that screenshot?

PeterD, check your PM please.

I too have this problem, Im not on UI 1.2 and rudder is neutral.
Either disable the conflicting mods or move to UI 1.2, that's pretty much all you can do at the moment I'm afraid. :|
