I had to try several times before it worked for me too. FC's tutorial really helped me. Getting the hang of all these mods now. Excellent work all around.

Here are instructions how to install QMBPlus with new wrapper.

1. Create temporary folder somewhere on your PC(you can delete this folder after installation).
2. Unzip QMBPlus in that folder.
3. Now you wil have QMBPlus1.1 in your temporary folder. Inside of QMBPlus folder there are couple of files and folder "files".
4.Go to your Il2 folder and you are suposed to have folder "Mods" there if you are using new wrapper. Go to "Mods" folder and create new folder there and call it QMBPlus.
5.Go back to temporary folder and go into "files" folder, there are 11 files with strange names there and folder "Missions".
6.Copy folder "Missions" into your Il2 folder and copy those 11 files with strange names into QMBPlus folder which you have created in your "Mods" folder.
7.Find and open your conf.ini file (it's in your Il2 folder)and copy this in the end of it.

Custom0=NWEurope
Custom1=MTO
Custom2=Bessarabia

Start game and you should have new maps added.

If everything is ok go to ReadThis.txt file in your temporary folder and read it carefully for additional info. You can now delete or do whatever you want with temporary folder.

Hope this help.

ooops, still getting errors wropng target. I made a red and blue mission as directed but still a no-go. As a matter of fact, I dont see any missions under any map with any target.

Than you have missions in wrong folder.
You should have them in Il2/Missions/Quick

Yes, Il2/Missions/Quick

- FC - 24.01.2008

Do you see Slovakia map in first place in map window, if yes than QMB engine is correctly installed and it is working.

Just to make it clear about missions. You have to place them in Missions folder in your Il2 main folder.

Here is how it looks on my PC, I have game on Disk G, folder for games is called igre and game is called Il2Eng because it's English version.

In first 3 pictures you can see where should missions go.

4. picture shows where you have to put folder QMB with those strange files in it.

Got it working. Had to create my own mission in FMB then save as xxxxnone00. But it works.

- VFS-214_Hawk - 25.01.2008

I added Midway and created missions. When I select Midway and click "Fly" in QMB I get a "wrong Target Selected" error message. I added Midway to the conf file. I just created another map and missions and it works fine...why not Midway? Where did I goof?

would someone be kind enough to post their quicks somewhere so i can just skip the figuring this out and just get to the fun. im sorry i only have very little time to play and would love to have missions in my quick plus

Are you sure you have "none" selected for target? You can put ground objects into your quick mission with FMB, but I think you still have to select "none" for target. If that fails, then I have encountered this error, I would go to a mission file which worked, open it in notepad, and copy and paste the aircraft initialization portion (at the top of the file just below the header) where it should lay out the four different flights per side. It may not give you the exact spacing you had sought for using FMB, but it can be a work around for what can be an annoying mystery --- these wrong target errors --- which can come up when you think you have set everything up right in FMB and the mission file contents look right without having any ground targets specified for air attack

- VFS-214_Hawk - 27.01.2008

I even made it simple. Opened up new , clean, map. Put four flights each side. Saved as MidwayBlueNone00 as well as red. Nodda, zilctch, nothing. Even loaded up an exsisting from another player known to work.

I'll keep at it. The main reason I wanted QMBPlus was for Midway(my makeshift Slot), Hawaii and of course when its released, the New Slot Map.

As a matter of fact, how do you remove any unwanted maps in QMB?

Within the readme included with the install should be instructions on how to add or delete maps. It has to do with lines in the fileslist.txt file which serves as the database load file when the game initializes.

- VFS-214_Hawk - 27.01.2008

I removed all but two but yet they all remain in the QMB list Confusedhock:

Maybe I should just take up basket weaving!

This is what I have in config

Custom0=Midway

There are some maps which are hard coded into QMB and cannot be removed. When FC wrote QMBPlus I think the existing five maps were retained and new ones were added into the compiled QMB which the option of the user adding more maps at his/her discretion. So you cannot reduce the QMB maps to just Midway.
