Sakishima -eastern shoreline - felix_the_fat - 25.10.2008

Dear ijeremiah,

Regarding your post: "Here is a quick tour of the eastern shoreline. "

Congratulations - fantastic work.
those eastern shoreline screenies show IMO the best attempt at a steep coastline I have ever seen - in any flight sim, period!!
[Incidentally -re the third screenie: what water setting & vidoecard were you using ?
Looks great - but I dont suppose that effect is achievable with an old FX5200 ????! ]

yours,

Thanks Felix. Smile

I've just completed work on Karenko town and it's two airfields.

Karenko north airfield completed in 1945.

It replaced Karenko south that was basically a large grass oval that suffered from poor drainage.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Haven't updated for a while because I've been working on the port and naval base of Kiirun on the northern end of Formosa.

Work on the map has slowed down this week as my laptop died and I had to set up the replacement. Luckily I didn't lose any work as it's all backed up.

I'm currently working around the capital of Japanese Formosa Taihoku and it's main airfield Matsuyama.

Matsuyama was a well established field with a long concrete runway

Also a shorter secondary runway. Taihoku city in the background.

Good luck on the completion of the map to your satisfaction.
Thank whatever it takes and your own good practices, it would have been terrible to lose this much work.
I didn't understand half of what I read in this thread but the screen shots show some amazing looking work being done by you.
I will be glad when the map is available for download.
