Quote:Now, working on Spitfire Mk.Vc:

PaintSchemeFMPar04.class

Sorry, off-topic, but is it possible to use that way to correct british roundels on Spitfire mkI fuselage ?

- McWolf - 23.01.2009

Veltro Wrote:Yes, you have to do it of course.

About South Africa example, and considering the mod above:

PaintScheme.class

You must add this line:

Code:
public static final java.lang.String countrySouthAfrica = "sa".intern();

Now, working on Spitfire Mk.Vc:

PaintSchemeFMPar04.class

Copy and paste British code (renaming it as SouthAfrica), and working on .mat files change these lines:

Code:
"Overlay6", "britishroundel2c", "British/roundel2c.tga"

Code:
"Overlay7", "britishroundel4cthin", "British/roundel4cthin.tga"

..in....

Code:
"Overlay6", "SAAFroundel2c", "British/SAAFroundel2c.tga"

Code:
"Overlay7", "SAAFroundel4cthin", "British/SAAFroundel4cthin.tga"

...where...

"Overlay6", "SAAFroundel2c", "British/SAAFroundel2c.tga"

..is the .mat file you must have in: PaintSchemes/Cache...and...

"Overlay6", "SAAFroundel2c", "British/SAAFroundel2c.tga"

...is the .tga file you must have in: PaintSchemes/Decals/British

Yuo should do this for all PaintSchemesXYZ.class files, but if you prefer you can work only on dedicated aircrafts. For ex., i don't care at all about ANR insigna on Yak, Zero, or P-51. Bf-109 and C-205 are enough.

Hi Veltro
This is a very interesting discover, can we add some decal tga for some plane, such as A6M series, the original one is ugly. you can find my decal shine mod, now it's limited for me to correct decal position.

Thank McWolf, .mat is the most important feature in this kinde of mod. A good artist is the best way to work.

BTW, this is the same mod above with South Africa example:

Anybody else have problems downloading it from File front?

I've tried both firefox and IE7 and it keeps telling me I'm rejected because of a multi connection download manager....... I don't even have a DM on my computer....

file front has always done this to me. I wonder if it's something to do with satallite internet. (I hope they run that new cable/DSL out here soon)

Just wondering.
Wanted to check this out as it sounds like quite the addition. Smile

V6 version out. Go to first page of this thread for new link !!!

- vampire_pilot - 22.02.2009

is it an english version?

- Gaston - 23.02.2009

As usual, English xxx.ini files do not have the _ru or _fr part. Just rename them with the _ru part !!! and the let _ru ones without it !!!

- vampire_pilot - 23.02.2009

got theat.
actually I see you setill keep going with the complicated structure.

say, Gaston, any plans or merging you mod with the other nations adding mod that brings in the national isignia?
so far I am going with you mod / nations structure because I have campaigns and missions by now with it.

- Ghost - 26.02.2009

Gaston, it seems that you forgot (or did you do it intentionally?) to add alternative names for airforces in this version of the mod.

- Gaston - 26.02.2009

You mean in their respectives languages ??? Yes... it is intentionnal, because many air forces have been added since the old version, and I do not have correct names for them...

In my point of view, Gaston dont need to change in his mod, coz of that other modder decides to have there own one short name for the countries/name order.
its bether that modder that implant new countries fallow Gastons structure to avoid problem in the future

The only thing that matters when it comes to implant new countries to il2, is to look in Gastons files how they are added, implant them whit those name/code.

Gaston almost using the http://www.iso.org/iso/english_country_names_and_code_elements
ISO 3166 country code

exempl, Spain = iso code es ok
er not cos that is Eritrea
One Error is South africa that use SA shuld be iso ZA
Saudi Arabia Iso is SA, solution for that if someone wants Saudi Arabia in the game is to use ZA for Saudi A,

to much there hehe, hum this is not rules more guide lines.

- Gaston - 26.02.2009

Mmmmm... I did not think about the ISO codes... these abreviations come to me naturally... SA, is simply... S outh A frica !!!

But you are right... I should have think about this since the beginning !!!
