After a bit of experimentation Ive found that not all trains collide with the canopy of those trees, only the bigger (higher) trains do

There is also something that needs fixing, the airfield next to Darwin has trees right on the landing flare zone for AI, resulting in all AI planes blowing up if they are landing there

Lol, I would suggest having the AI come in from the opposite direction Wink

@Stonehouse

How did you go with that DCG mission of Darwin mate? If you succeeded can you post it up for us to use?

@Neil

457 and 5 squadron started the campaign last Friday evening and so far are up to mission 3. It seems to be ok so far although I've had to fiddle the DCG settings and a few things in IL2 (like clouds being off and weather stuck at clear) to keep the frames up for everyone. If it gets through this weeks flying then it's probably good enough to be allowed out for public beta. Keep you posted anyway.

Cheers,
Stonehouse

I dont know how to actually fly this map! Help me understand how to create a multi player or single player map I can load and fly it in as a sandbox.

This is frustrating me.

Hiya,

This is a great resource for learning to use the FMB

Thanks alot, that really did it!

Now can you explain to me what all those strips of pavement on the main airbase are meant for? One is obviously a runway but the rest look a bit short... is this based on a real airfield?

I'm guessing you mean RAAF Darwin Airbase. Mostly they are taxiways. The main one is the runway. It is based on the real airfield (very limited photographic info available)

Last time I was at RAAF DArwin, 2003 I think, that water tower was still there

@ ex_RAAF_Elecfitter

The campaign seems to be going fairly well other than I need to tweak the sea routes and increase the number of ships in the invasion fleet to speed the progress of the campaign up some. Likewise I need to up the number of available IJA ground units. Bottom line is that it's working ok but needs a few changes to make it v1.1 and a better balance because at the moment I'm manually adjusting where IJA ground units respawn to keep the pressure on the front lines. Likewise I've made the mistake of putting some Matildas in a critical early defensive position and Oleg seems to have over spec'd their armour and they need to be changed to Stuarts or something weaker. Aircraft side of things is going well and we're getting a real mix of getting bounced just after take off to patrols that go active just after you've turned for home. Nice for online co-ops because the map tends to force engagements.

I'm pretty flat out at work at the moment so it might be towards the end of March before I get the changes done. You'll still have to get your own skins though as explained in an earlier post.

Once it is I'll send it in to Lowengrin and also the Mods here.

Cheers,
Stonehouse

Looking forward to giving that a go. I've recently started using DCG and am having a ball.

Thanx for all your hard work Stonehouse Big Grin

Especially when Magpie releases the Boomerang, its going to be a gem!

@Stoney

Over at the lowengrin DCG forum, there is a nice tutorial on making new campaigns/maps and in it it specifically mentions NOT to have more than TWO Matildas in a campaign against Japanese armour, or the result will always be to the allies favour

Cant wait to play your campaign
