Hi!
I have downloaded and installed the map, eager to try out the Arakan campaign (I'm a Hurri-fan, and the on-line squadron I fly with is modelled on one that fought in that campaign), My problems is that the map won't load. Trying to open it in FMB, I get a message below the map-window saying:
World.land().LoadMap() error.lang.RuntimeException: Landscape 'cztx_BurmaLower/load.ini' loading error
(Puh!)
I have had a look around in my files, and I found the file structure looks just a tad different from yours. My "land" folder is in
\MODS\MAPMODS\maps\_tex\NTL_\land
The only other map I have downloaded with new textures is the Darwin-map. I put the textures for your map in the land-folder I found. I made a copy of the path you specified for the fsk_country_mount, nut without removing the Darwin-folders.
Will I have to remove the Darwin-map to make you map work, or is it something else going on?

New textures should be dropped here... MODS/MAPMODS/MAPS/_TEX/cztx_burmalower/land/summer/fsk_country_mount
There are two different ways we can add new textures. One way is the way you mentioned with each map having its own folder for textures... I believe this will be the new standard for new maps. However, I used the old way which still works.
cztx_Burmalower map will be in the new Unified Installer V1.2 for easy install and MOD-approved. So if anyone is having problems manually installing this map then you can wait and get the new UI V1.2 and might have better luck installing.
I hope this works for you. I wanted to make this map for those of you who are really interested in the Burma Theater.
You might notice in my Battle for Arakan campaign that the SEAC markings are wrong for that time period. They should be larger blue and white. The blue/pale blue wasn't around til mid-44. Feel free to change up the missions any way you want and I look forward to missions created by others.
My new campaign Battle for the Admin Box will be here soon. Just have to add appropriate new skins to the missions.

Did you get my email last night CzechTexan?
-
CzechTexan - 09.08.2009
Yes I did. These are just WIP right? Should I wait for the finished product?
Skins look great. I see you played a little with the roundels. That's very good as each one seems different, just like in the field. good job.
FriendlyFlyer, just drop the fsk_country_mount file like this...
MODS/MAPMODS/MAPS/_TEX/LAND/SUMMER/fsk_country_mount
Let me know if that works for you. Do you not have the UI? Sounded like you are missing some of the new folders from that.
- Friendly_flyer - 10.08.2009
I downloaded and ran the installer before adding the map. I just fixed path to the texture too, but I get the same result. I guess it's something else going on. It seems I may have to wait for the U.I. 1.2

I was trying t play Flying Tigers Rangoon Campaign but the map didn't want to load.
On the first time I've got some problem with textures loading,
at second - game crashed me to desktop.
Any solution ?

Whiskey,
I need to know a little more about what you have.
Do you have the UI?
Did you download cztx_BurmaLower v1.4? or v1.3?
Is the map able to load in the Full Mission Builder?... If so, are you able to save a mission on the map?
The 60% crash to CTD is sometimes caused by not having a MODS plane installed correctly.
Blying Tigers Rangoon uses the Blenheim IV but I'm not sure this would be the problem.
Also, the missions have many planes in the air so this could be very computer-memory demanding.
But first, answer the above questions and that will give me a better understanding to help.

I have UI 1.1
Map version 1.4
It doesn't load even in FMB.

CzechTexan - 11.08.2009
If you have UI1.1, do you have its Patch to make it v1.1.1?
Do you have the bridges MOD and new texture listed below?....
quote="CzechTexan"]
REQUIRED:
_________
UI 1.1.1
v1.4 includes everything that is in the Patch. All files must be manually installed so be sure to put the files in the correct locations.
If you download only v1.4 then you need to have:
1.
Delvpier's Mods_Bridges MOD available to download at this link:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/tlbxiit1f ... RIDGES.zip
BurmaLower v1.3 Package has Delvpier's MOD included.
2.
Fabianfred's new village texture which can be downloaded here:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/mn4wvnx9y ... exture.zip
Put this new texture file in this sequence: Mods/Mapmods/Maps/Tex/land/summer/fsk_countrymount

Yes, I have patched UI to 111111111111 version
No... I have not those extra extensions.
I will download it.
Sorry for noobie bahaviour

Absolutely smashing map, no doubt!
One question on the campaign: Am I supposed to fly the PBY on the first mission? I loaded her up with bombs and sank the transporter the Hurri-boys failed to hit.

CzechTexan - 13.08.2009
Friendly_Flyer, you keep pointing out my flaws haha! So glad you got the map to working now.
That mission you're talking about... you're supposed to be flying a Hurricane.
Maybe I had the PBY in the same squadron??? grrr.. guess I slipped up on that one. It should be a different squadron so that Hurricanes are only flyable by the player.
YOu must have chosen a lower rank to be in the PBY. Which rank do you have?
Maybe try a higher rank to be in the Hurricane. Sorry about that.
PBY is really just doing recon patrol looking for targets. And Hurris are supposed to bomb the ships.
- Friendly_flyer - 14.08.2009
I'm not complaining, it was great fun flying that old clunker through the rain of small calibre AA!
-
CzechTexan - 14.08.2009
I looked at the mission in FMB last night and sure enough, it is the 2nd flight of 1st Squadron and that's why you were flying the PBY. I failed to put it in a different squadron. That should be the only mission like that (knock on wood).
Glad you got the map working. I'm still waiting on skins for the Admin Box and that will be out as soon as I put them in the missions.
Vague installation instuctions -

From page 1 of this thread:
1. Put the file named "cztx_BurmaLower" into the Maps folder using this path: IL2 Sturmovik 1946/Mods/MapMods/Maps/cztx_BurmaLower
2. Add the following line to your All.ini which is in your Mod/Mapmods/Maps folder.
cztx_BurmaLower cztx_BurmaLower/load.ini
From the PDF that came with ctx_BrurmaLower:
INSTALLAION:
1. Put the folder "cztx_BurmaLower" in the MAPA folder (path: IL2 STURMOVIK-1946, MODS, MAPMODS, MAPS).
2. Add the line "cztx_BurmaLower cztx_BurmaLower/load.ini" to the "all.ini" file in the maps folder.
3. Add Delvpier's MODS BRIDGES to the MODS folder (see MOD_BRIDGES folder in download).
From page 5 or 6 of this thread:
New textures should be dropped here... MODS/MAPMODS/MAPS/_TEX/cztx_burmalower/land/summer/fsk_country_mount
From page 5 or 6 of this thread also:
FriendlyFlyer, just drop the fsk_country_mount file like this...
MODS/MAPMODS/MAPS/_TEX/LAND/SUMMER/fsk_country_mount
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
folder "cztx_BurmaLower"
Where exactly does this get installed? (exact path: MODS/MAPMODS/MAPS or MODS/MAPMODS//MAPS/_TEX)
MOD_BRIDGES folder
Where exactly does this folder get installed? (exact path: MODS or MODS/MAPMODS/MAPS/ or MODS/MAPMODS/MAPS/_TEX/ or MODS/MAPMODS/MAPS/_TEX/cztx_burmalower/)
fsk_country_mountor
Does this file get installed here (MODS/MAPMODS/MAPS/_TEX/LAND/SUMMER/fsk_country_mountor) or here (MODS/MAPMODS/MAPS/_TEX/cztx_burmalower/land/summer/fsk_country_mount)?
I downloaded and extracted 1.4. I am getting the same error as Friendly Flyer when I try to open the map in the FMB. I have installed lots of maps and never had a problem. I followed the .pdf instructions to the letter and also the instructions on page one of this thread to the letter. The result was the same each time. I will wait to get your reply so I know exactly the path needed to place these files.
I believe that FA_Bong wants you to contact Monguse so that when they incorporate this map and the objects and textures in the new UI 1.2 the installation locations will be exact and there won't be any problems when the average player installs the UI there won't be any problems. I believe Monguse is helping with the new UI.
Look forward to this map as the screen shots look gorgeous.
