Saburo Sakai Wrote:porto, i think he means where the flat panels that you used to make the base where it is lying on the water, maybe a concrete edge is needed or something?

That's exactly what I meant, its nothing negative. The way the sim engine renders the waters edge when no beach is used is lacking, visually it just doesn't look right.

porto72: you are using textures for those airfields, right?

This map will also be on my maps list. Superb.

I suppose the difficulties people have been having precludes your use of the shippack2 ships?

at least you don't have to bother adding buildings...just a/c; vehicles; artillery; ships and men....

my own mission has the player taking-off from Akagi and taking part in the second wave...... allowing you to watch the first wave attack during your flight inbound

it looks just fantastic Confusedhock: Big Grin Big Grin

I will release the map for beta testing soon to some of you who are willing to do some test.

Wheeler original oct. 1941:

Bad photo because you cannot see the runway (or is still under construction), but the hangers are visible

map:

original 1948 (notice that wheeler has now more runways!!)

map still 1941 (only one runway)

and a look at schofield barracks in the backround

By the way Saburo, as you will see the map scale is o.k. The battleship row ends as it should!

map:

on the right Pearl City is visible. A lot of cities are missing in the original map, not in the new map

- porto72 - 02.06.2009

And now some important landmarks:

no Oahu without Diamond Head!!!!
