Small patch to fix the contrail position. Extract the patch .exe INSIDE your MODS/MiG15(bis) folder and apply the fix. Vista users may need to run the patcher as administrator.

Can't be related to the contrail fix. Which cockpit are you using?

Thanks PeterD for these fantastic planes. The damage models are amazing. I have one minor problem though. When I try to open the canopy in the F-86 on the ground, it will only open in external view. Nothing happens when I try to open it in the cockpit view. Everything on the Mig works fine. I am using the SAS 2.3 buttons.

The canopy doesn't open in first person view (yet) :|
Air refueling!!??? - Fryslanboy - 19.10.2009
Hi PeterD,
for the second time, thank you very much for the Sabre an MiG..
I have a question though, would it be possible to make the planes ready for air-refueling?
The Americans tried it back in '51..
Here's a quote from a story:
''There were other efforts to extend the F-86's range. In early 1951, the USAF tested aerial refueling on a T-33, F-84 and F-86.
The airman flew 4 flights in an F-86A in March using a drogue system from a KB-29 tanker and a 3.5 foot probe on an F-86 120 gallon external fuel tank. This configuration encountered problems because it placed the fighter's empennage in the tanker's turbulance, making longitudinal control ''very difficult'' and causing the drogue to bob. As a result, contact in the F-86 was more a problem than with the other 2 aircraft..'

Thanks for the good work and love the planes peter.
Two proiblem I have though.
I don't have any skins or folder for skins in my game/paintschemes folder that has Mig 15, there IS a paintshcemes folder I did find for the Mig but it only had regiment and Jap and had star roundels in it. No Plane skins .
Secon, I tried using the contrail patch but it wouldnt work. I even had it in the same folder as the file that needed replacing. message said it couldnt find pathway to where the file was.
apart from that., very very appreciated of your good work m8
just wish I could find a way to skin the sabre and the mig hope you can help..
regards

From page one of this thread:
Quote:How can I add more skins for the planes?
If you used the autoinstaller, it will create the folders for you; just drop the new skins into the correct folders (see below). If you installed the aircraft manually, these are the skin folders:
PaintSchemes\Skins\F-86A5
PaintSchemes\Skins\MiG-15(bis)
They don't come with extra skins, just the default one. It is not a "bug".
If the patcher says that it cannot find the file, then you are placing the patcher in the wrong place. Open your MODS folder, find the MiG-15(bis) folder in there, then put the patcher
INSIDE that folder. I even posted 2 screenshots on my site... :|

Very unlikely. What's wrong with using the large droptanks? Not big enough??

Thank you for your quick reply . I didnt auto install. So I am re downloading planes and letting the installer do its business.
I did read those posts you put up and had read them before. Problem was my incomplete and bad install I did manually.
Thanks again for your help. and you have a good site. thanks

Thank You Sir for all your hard work in bringing these aircraft to life. The Sabre A5 is an absolute pleasure to fly , as it stands in it's current state it is a challenge to kill the Mig-15bis I think you have created one of the most realistic oppertunities to be as close to real thing as possible. Trying to climb with the Mig forget it, out turn it I don't think so, catch it in a dive and watch those 50's as they begin to take there toll on the Mig. ~S

Flakiten has released the F-84G wth the KB-29 Tanker... it works for air refueling. I do not believe the F86 was ever refueld in the air in Korea.. but the F84 was refueled on some combat ops late in the war.

The F-86 did not use operationally the system. Only made four trial flights.
