I hope so before X'Mas....it would greatly improve all the new maps  . It's very interresting this wave of ultra realism in all domains.....
After having passed many times for "nature" texture, i start the last part of this map : human environment, fieds and cities. I will let cities for the last.
So. It seems that I found my agriculture texure for this map. The next step is to find good and old style city textures and this map will be finished. These textures comes from Vietnam and Kyushu it selfe.
Enjoy

This is arguably the best terrain texturing being done for IL-2 , right now. It's going to be the ruler that's used to measure all of the other ones.
As someone who has been fascinated by the last months of the war in the Pacific, I am really excited by this work. And what a lucky break that somebody so talented decided to go ahead and tackle this job. Mustangs escorting B-29's to Japan. Neat.

speechless ...
looking foreward to it - btw: your Okinawa textures are even great stuff, Iwo too
so, keep them coming ...

Little question for you, maybe you have an idea...
Do you know if Japanese cities from WW2 period have hypodamian style urbanism with rectiniear streets, so new "new world style" (north middle and south america) or a more destructurated and chaotic style like cities of europe ?
I found some pics from Hiroshima and it look like european cities.

update november 27 2009
We are going to need more detailed b29 cockpits, with hight resolution textures for exemple 8) .
Agriculture textures are still under test nothing is definitive for the moment. As many other moders here i'm trying to avoid to the max repetition effect at high altitude which is important i think for those of you who wants to play this map with b29 and other bombers....8)

Nice! I've seen you've given a greener style to the volcanic peninsula than me.

Hi WhitCat, how are you mate ?
yes for the moment. the original is brown as i checked that in google earth. I don't have enough texture slots on load.ini so solve the problem of repetitive texture at hight altitude and a realistic peninsula.
But i have a little idea for that...we will see if we are lucky!

It looks bloody awesome mate!!! Great work!
