Priceless Confusedhock: Confusedhock:

The best cockpit ever, no doubt

But I have a question. Whe I start a mission in QMB with the Sabre, the cocktpit appears open :-? , this is normal?

Yes and no ... Big Grin

Since the default cockpit is open prior to take off, like in real life, then it is also open in airstarts (QMB) .... so unless Freddy finds a "fix" for that, you'll have to immediately close the canopy at the very beginning of QMB missions if you want to finish them with it !!

first, update the bombs doors mod that is installed on your PC - the F84 (and the Do335 as well) interacts with this mod. Then you need to "open" the virtual unseen "bombs door" before trying to drop your bombs - not doing so will freeze the game

if the FM folder is disabled the bombing doesn't crash the game...

....if you forget to open the bomb doors it should just not drop the bombs....to freeze the game is unacceptable.

Thank you Freddy! It installed without a hitch on my UI 1.2. I like the way your airplanes fly. I piloted a jet warbird in aerobatics...but not in any of these you modeled.

Heheh, for your enjoyment, here, from the F-86 manual, is a recommended F-86 engine-off landing for you to try:

"Overhead break-engine off"...(F-86 Flight Manual).-using left-hand turns.

1) 12,000 feet (3,600 meters) engine off.
2) 12,000 feet-lower landing gear.
3) Establish 170 knots (195 MPH).
4) Above runway threshhold in overhead pass, be at 6,000 feet (1828 meters)...not over runway, but to right
of it on overhead pass with left-hand turns.
5) Fly rectangular pattern (not circular).
6) Turning onto base leg be at 3000 feet (914 meters)and 170 knots.
7) Turning onto final be at 1,500 feet (457 meters).
8) On long, flat final approach- use speed brake and flaps as necessary...(145 knots-166 MPH).
..................................................................................................................................................................

For a normal power on landing, I personally find first lowering the landing gear and opening the speed brake. Then keep at 200 mph until close final, then 166 mph. Then only on a long, flat final approach putting down flaps as necessary.

I'm sure you can eliminate the use of most of the speed brake and just use the flaps too...but I was trying to do it the way another F-86 pilot reported it for fun by always keeping the speed brake on.("Flying American combat aircraft of the cold war")

If anyone should have a 60% CTD crash after following directons, remember to put your new buttons file in the Mods\STD\gui\game folder.

Balance is relative..

That is to say one mans balance is another mans un-balanced..

That is to say FMs should NOT be based on personal biases

FMs should be based on real world data!

In that online dogfights between two pilots says more about the differences in the pilots skills & luck than how realistic the planes are simulated/performing.
