Actually i did change the texture of some instruments. This is just a crude test. :lol:

There's so much work to make instruments textures for a n00b like me. :lol:
I found this nice tutorial at Simmers paintshop. It also had a template for gauges.

Working at 109
Some error on placement of this two beta gauges, its a test!
Have to make the pointers as well fot these two, almost forgot!
Still have to correct the alpha chanel around the gauges, some white is still showing... :S
But as i say, its a beta test!

How do you actually mod these cockpits.
-Where do i find files?
-Do i need an program to open them or is photoshop enough?
-Is is difficult?

New textures for old pits would be magic! The low res of the oldest cockpits puts me off flying them. If someone can reskin the P39 and all the LaGGs, Migs, Yaks and wotnot it would be a dream come true for this VVS flyer.

First of all you will need the sfs extractor utility!
You extract the sfs files from your gamefolder. Next you go to you extracted sfs and find the folder ''cockpit'' and the folder of the airplane cockpit you would like to mod...
There will be mesh and tga files.... The tga files are the textures! Some tga files can't be open in the photoshop or other program, so you have to replace the tga that you want to open as your backgorund in il2. Wen game is starting you just press 'printscreen' and thats the only way to get almost all of the tga files... ehehe
