Th!rdeye Wrote:Mangas Wrote:I finally made this nice mod to work at my system. It took quite a lot of time, but here's the result: there's a GFX file called "SmokeMkII.tga" in Slipry's Ground Dust Mod... Removing just this file enables Th!rdeye's mod. Putting it back to GroundDust\3do\Effects\Textures folder -- disables the Weapon Hit Effect mod... For those who can't enable the mod -- try it... Good luck.
Btw: after removing the SmokeMkII.tga file be prepared to get not very nice too much dense and too much black wreckage smoke:
If anyone know how to fix it -- please tell...
My best wishes,
Mangas.
This is wierd..... I'll install his dust mod and see if i get any results...
Anyone know if this removing action of SmokeMkII.tga from Slypry folder is needed also for light-grey version of the Th!rdeye's mod?

Removing the SmokeII file also works for me. Finally I can see this awesome effect.

Th!rdeye Wrote:OK everyone who had problems, before you removed the smoke tga, what was the effect you got on the weapon hits? Did you just have the flash with no smoke?
Here's the screenie before removing SmokeMkII.tga (your mod doesn't work):
I began to experiment with eff-files to make the wreckage smoke not so dense\black... I'll let you know if something works out...

I'm glad I could help. Btw, I like your screenshot art very much!
My best regards,
Mangas.

I really want this mod, but I think I may wait until it's no longer a beta 8)

Bump and idea on what might be the culprit with the TGA file, Th!rdeye?
- Balto - 20.07.2008
On my computer the puff smoke after canon hit was not working.
I had to remove the file smokemkII.tga
Not from any MODS folders.
i had to remove
Il21946/Files/3DO/Effects/Textures/SmokeMkII.tga
hope this will help those who deleted SmokeMkII.tga from MODS folders and still cant see the puffs of smoke.
his is a very good mod

Its the way Slipry did his smoke mod. He made the texture really light, and edited the properties a certain way. So when you have my mod in, it uses that same smoke file, but now because his mod is in, it doesn't show my smoke at all, because its sooo lightened its basically invisible. I have other things i'm doing now, so all i can say is remove his mod if you want normal non flat looking crash mod or put up with it for reduced smoke on take off.

Will do, thanks for the reply Th!rdeye.

..But at this moment is it possible to change or increase the hits effect on te planes...It will be great if they' ll be more realistic..example: when you hit a part of plane..this part will be damaged.. 8) ..
Sorry for my english

Nope i don't think its quite possible. Right now it does show in the area where you hit. Its just very general
either way i couldn't do it cause it is a DM mod.

I just realized that the thick black smoke is the default smoke, which I don't have any issues with; so removing the SmokeMkII.tga file gives me that smoke, and your mod. I can work with that. Thanks!
