It seems that getting the ship pack to work has become something of a "rite of passage" for mod users everywhere.....
Ok, I got ShipPack2 working and I can load the ships in the FMB. However, when I load up FliegerKorps X, I get error while loading which reads exactly this:
"Mission Loading Failed: String index out of range: 1"
EDIT:
I solved it. You must have the Malta 1.32 patch installed.

This would be a great favour!

I have a problem
If I try to start the campaign I get this error message: Mission loading failed:null
The campaign is located in:IL2\Missions\Campaign\Us
LAL_Rone’s superlative Normandy map is installed.
Thanks
OK I know this message is old but I'm posting here as I was having the exact same issue, and after some trial and error resolved it. So hopefully my fix will help someone.
Basically I was getting the "Mission loading failed:null" message from Philks campaigns Fire and Steel and Day of the Cobra. It was odd because all of the Pacific theatre work by Phil worked without any problems. Anyway the issue concerns some missing files which are being used in the Normandy map. The bottom line is that you also need to install Canon's Objects which came with his channel map in order for both Fire and Steel and Day of the Cobra to work. I don't think the readme with the two campaigns specifies this, so this should probably be updated. So if you're having this problem check that you have the following installed:
(The link is inoperative)
and then go on and install the LAL_Normandie map, PCP textures and campaign files. Hope this helps

Kadett75 - thanks for that - I'll update the ReadMe's.
Here's the next one for the Slotologists:
Should be out in the next week or so. Has anybody played much of "Countdown To Love" yet? I'm just wondering how much the slippery handling of the Avenger affects gameplay.....

Hi and congratulations for your campaigns (cobra and fire and steel) that i enjoy..
2 remarks :
1-the way u explain how to install in your "read me" is not enough clear for noobs like me
i had to copy each file in the right "campaign" and skins of "1964" directory and not copy "....1946"
directly in ubisoft directory..
hock:
2-Have you in WIP a campaign of the AVG(Air Volunteer Group) "FLYING TIGERS"? If no it will be great
TX again for your work

tbolt - OK I will look at the ReadMe's to see if I can make them clearer.
I haven't made an AVG campaign, but I do recommend Chris Blair's "White Sun Blue Sky":
http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... ls&id=2166
It is a much more detailed and comprehensive campaign than I could ever do.

The amount of research and detail in that campaign is frightening, isnt it?
- Phil_K - 25.01.2009
Although I've downloaded it, I haven't played it yet, Nocturnum. I've set it aside to be the last big campaign I play. Going out in style as it were.....

That sounded.. eery...
Currently I'm grinding through the "Der Kessel" campaign for the 190F8 Jabos in Kurland, and I can honestly say, I'm impressed. I've wasted my plane on the very first mission (I hit one of the bombers with my wingtip), but since then I've not lost a plane. Phil has managed to capture the desparate fight of SG3, trying to help to ground units against heavy odds and preserve the planes at the same time.
One problem (that's entirely not the campaign's fault) - the F8 flyes like a slow truck, should it be that way? :?
- Phil_K - 28.01.2009
Er......yeah, when I said it was the last big campaign I was going to play, I meant prior to doing other stuff. I'm getting a bit too busy to spend much time with flight sims at the moment. I wasn't hinting that I was going to walk into a darkened room with a bottle of whisky and a revolver......

Messer - I think Fw-190's "feel" slower than they actually are. I think it's partly the slow-revving sound of the engine. If you look at the speed bar, you should see that you are going plenty fast. Also, they tend to bleed speed quickly in turns. I'm by no means an Fw-190 experten, but I do think they need quite a lot of skill to fly to their strengths.

ok lets unleash the Avenger TBF! Im a massive pacific fan so these missions keep me coming back to this great game
- Phil_K - 04.03.2009
And another one:
Should be out within the next week. Campaigns will get a bit rarer now as I'll mainly be finishing off stuff I've already started (4 campaigns) and not starting many new ones.

Loving it. I wonder why
Thanks.
