Two people are currently reskinning the p47 'pits, one is doing the gunsights, the other the textures.
You might want to check with them, perhaps they'd welcome some help.

Hi, Capt. I didn't know it was you. I've seen your A9 video on Youtube last year and left a comment there. It is a great tutorial on how to fly FW 190 and it helped me a lot. I didn't expected you were also such a talented skinner. It can't be more perfect than you, a skilled butcherbird pilot, designing such a beautiful cockpit for such a great plane. Frankly, Oleg should really invite you to skin cockpits for the SoW series. Looking forward to your other cockpit works.

As Murph pointed out, Taurus, the guy modelling the P47 cockpit, is looking for someone to do the textures:
