Dont know if anyone has read this from olegs Official 1C Company forum he has mentioned he hopes this sim will be finished in the new yr!
This was posted in dec 2008 so that means this sim is nearly finished then...just got to beta test it and find a distributer if ubi mess about...

The reason why it took Oleg team to develop BOB SOW is because of this:

Also I have tested periodically BoP and would like to say that the contol of aircraft there and FM is better than in other arcade sim-games, and controlling aircraft is more easy than in arcade sims... because the guys are keeping some of the original physics from Il-2.
I hope it clears everyone why it is taking them very long time to develop BOB SOW and to be honest with you people, I am very glad they are taking time to code and polish BOB SOW. We dont want rushed BOB SOW with many bugs/glitches.

By that does he (Oleg) mean he would like to have the game finished on his part in the new year... ie still needs full testing, marketing, age rating etc?

You can BET that whoever is financing SOW:BOB is freaking out, wanting it (finished) out the door ASAP so they can begin to recoup some of the cash that all these years that the expenses have built up on making the sim. Investors do not care about who cool the sim is, they want money! If 1C is financing, they have investors, if other parties invested they want their money. If there are say 10 board members and 4 voted get it out the door now, but 6 said let's wait 1 more year... well, you get the picture..
