70% CTD usually means objects / static.ini ( or ships / technics.ini / ships.ini) ... are you sure this mod caused it ?
60% CTD = conflict buttons/ air.ini/ plane mod and since this mod doesn't require new AC INSTALLER ( buttons) your problem would be somewhere else

this is all i installed between my last usage and the crashng, other than two racing skins.

The I-16 pit rather than the Ki-27's would, I think, be a better stand-in (until somebody makes the real P-26 pit); there is no canopy to worry about and the rearward view would be closer to the P-26's rearward view.
This plane is FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!!! Deutschmark is certainly to be commended for bringing this into the sim.

Does your game load up ok if you take the plane and info out?
If your game does load up then try reinstalling the plane again ,make sure the plane is not double foldered inside the MODS folder as the way the zip file is when you extract it you will find that the plane is double foldered.
If after unistalling your game wont load it may mean that there is other issues at hand
If your game loads up after unistalling the plane and its info then it should be as easy as this to get working>
Drop the plane folder into the mods folder then find the STD folder inside your MODS folder
Go into STD/com/maddox/il2/objects
then scroll to the bottom of that file called air.ini after you open it in notepad
click on the bottom and press enter to sart a new line and enter>
P-26 air.P_26 1 NOINFO usa01 SUMMER
Then save and back out of those folders and go into the STD/il8n folder and open in notepad the plane_ru.properties file and enter at the bottom>
P-26 P-26, 1932
close and save this file and open the weapons_ru.properties file and enter at the bottom>
#####################################################################
# P-26
#####################################################################
P-26.default Standard
P-26.4x25 4x25p
P-26.none empty
close and save this file and that's it,go fly it in the QMB,you should find the P-26 at the bottom of the aircraft list
I first enter all aircraft info into these files at the bottom in case I have problems for easy access to the info.Once verified as working good for me I would then cut and paste that info into an alphabetical order of each file for proper placement of the plane in the aircraft list and ease of finding info in each file at a later date from everything being alphabetical order.
Hope this helps

Issue with the Polikarpov I-16 is the reflector sight. I think the Ki-27 is the closest overall match we can get to the P-26 unless someone makes a cockpit for it.

urufu_shinjiro Wrote:What's going on at AAA? I thought quality was on the rise, no offense to the mod maker but this should really be in the WIP/Beta section, no FM of it's own, shows icons of a different plane, has bullet holes in thin air? Please move this to Beta until the bugs are fixed and it has it's own FM, we have enough AC released with their own new model and an FM with a cockpit that we really need to start keeping everything with a borrowed FM and cockpit in the beta section, lets step it up at AAA.
I do not know anything about those 3d modelling things and FM things, but i'm always happy to see a new bird rising. Besides, if IIRC, there a many other airplanes that uses other planes FM. And cockpits. If there are errors, they can be fixed. It is called updating...
As always: U don't like, U don't install
(BTW My P-50 FM is porked LOL)
and
USA won teh war
I personally want to see more pre ww2 planes. They look gorgeous!
And THX for this mr. DM!
Can't wait the Canvas Knights!

I found if you dont want to see bullet holes in open air around cockpit hit your open canopy button and if you get hit you really just notice the ones on the front windshield. You have to look around behind you to see the others. To me this is a great addition to IL2 and as most planes can use some updates but that takes time. I plan to just have fun with it and leave the sorting out to those who are better qualified than I.

Make sure the skin folder says P-26
the folder that came with the download only says P26 and the dash - has to be in the name for the game to recognize it.
IL2/Paintschemes/Skins/P-26

if it has bugs or not i find every thing that people make for free in their free time asome especialy wenn they look at this as their first apearance. I think in time all bugs will be fixed but we have to give it some time.

This is one very good fun little aircraft to fly -- thank you very much!
- Birdman - 27.07.2009
Thanks a lot for this nice plane!
I tested dogfighting against some P-26 fighters and they turned and rolled so quickly that they were difficult to hit.
Then I took I-153P and managed to hit the wings and the result was this:
Funnily enough, that plane still flew well and even was chasing me!
Another one lost a wingtip but still flew without problems. So something in the damage model doesn't work like in other aircraft.
