Okay, good point about the fm. Hadn't thought about that. But what about replacing one of the Spits then? or an FW190...or one of the other Soviet fighter types. This would be a closer match and still leave us with the sole model of the Tempest in the game. Hope I'm not sounding like a pain in the neck or anything. Still unconditionally grateful for this great mod.

Hi guys, this is amazing!

I downloaded the Spitfire and its probably the best (if most unheralded) mod yet Big Grin

The Typhoon imo would probably suit the IL-10s FM the most or if not that perhaps a F4U Corsair?
I dont think giving it a Spitfire or a La5s FM or even a Tempests would be suitable. Both the Corsair and the IL10 have a feeling of weight while offereing decent performance at low altitude (Corsairs performance is too good up high but oh well) and are not too manuverable.

I cant wait to fly the Typhoon but strongly advise dont replace the Tempest with it Big Grin Its my favourite plane !

The Typhoon was very fast a low altitude, much faster than an Il-10.

I have the report of a canadian Typhoon pilot that shot down an Me-262.

If I were to chose a FM to suit the Typhoon it would be the P-47D-10.

A close one according to Il2compare is the I-185 M-82A, espceially at low altitude.

The I-185 is much better in roll rate and in climbing than the typhon

Tend to agree with that - though I'd miss the P-47D-10.
I read somewhere that the Typhoon could hit 400 mph below 500ft - which was the reason the Germans introduced the souped-up Fw190A5 1.65 ATA on the channel coast for jabo ops. With that in mind, another alternative might be an early Mustang, which were also fast low down.

to me there are many useless aircraft, almost all of 1946, especially those that never flew combat (Lagg3R, etc...).

If there's really the need to replace something (why not simply "add" a new plane ?), these should be the first to be replaced. Tempest is needed for west front ops, and would go well flying with Typhoons.

As mentioned by someone else in this picture it is very clear that the gear on the right is too close compared to the gear on the left.

Sorry my Question might sound stupid, but why the new typhoon skin cannot be just added (using a tempest flight model for example)? Why it is necessary to put the skin on top of one of the existing planes????
