This Ship Pack1 has a nice variety of merchant ships, both in terms of skins as well as size. You can easily place them on the map or in your coop as neutral. The only way you're going to be able to see their flags to identify them, is if you're shot down next to one. :wink:

Do the flags really matter? ^^ it's true what he says but even if you do put them your going to have to make lets say 9 of the same ship... If any thing i think the mission maker should just put a better brief.

Holy smokes FC!! That is truly a thing of beauty!!!
You and Archie are wonderful. The Hellcat will launch from the lead position with a full load of fuel, drop tank, 6xHVARs and 2x250 lb bombs with little trouble. This is while the ship is steaming at 19 kts into a 19 kt breeze. :wink: You can also spawn 8x TBFs, or a nice little strike package of 4 each. :wink:

General question: Is it possible to mod the ship meshes in the same way as the planes? So taking the stack from one carrier typ and putting it on a new one at a different position?

ShipPack should work in 4.08 and in 4.09, if it doesn't work for you than you have not installed it properly.

We are slow in our work, I think that I'll send what I have finished to Archie and when he finish the skins we will release new ships. Probably 5-6 new ships, CVL are finished as far as I'm concerned so they will be included.
I was thinking to include few files with spawn points so players can use the one that suite their current needs. What do you think?

Sure, that's what I had to do when I made armed Transport ships for example. I took cannons from other ships, in new ship pack I'm using meshes from static objects too but they need to be slightly hacked before use with ships.
If you want to make ship mods let me know, I'll help you as much as I can, there is plenty of work for anyone interested.

Il2/Mods/ShipPack
ShipPack is using some files that can be used by some other mods, these files are in
Il2/Mods/ShipPack/com/ maddox/il2/objects
There are 4 of these files
technics.ini
ships.ini
chief.ini
stationary.ini
If one of your other mods is using these files it is possible that these files are loaded from that mod and not from Ship mod.
You can try to place ShipPack in
Il2/Mods/aaShipPack
That will put ShipPack in first place of mods and it will be loaded before other mods. If you have ships in that case than you will have to find which mod is using critical files and make adjustment in them if you want to use both mods at the same time.

I think that would be a fine idea. The CVE and CVL are not very useful for anything in a DF map unless you have the wind config mod installed. If that is the case, then the original spawn points would be a better way to go. Thanks again FC, for the update.

I believe that this is what tyou are asking for. Put the Ship Pack folder into the MODS folder. You will find the MODS folder in the root directory for the game, usually: C
