Just noticed the .50 dont leave smoke trail :?: ...why not?

dont go there

forgive me for asking leigh, but for a bullet ballistics novice like my self i would like to know and ill be done with it

Because it requires an edit of the files which would classify it as a weapons mod, thus is not allowed here.

Thank you for this mod.

After watching some guncam clips I have a question:
Would it be possible to make the "smoketrails" a bit more transparent and/or fading away earlier? At the moment I have the impression it is a bit overdone in IL2. But I'm no expert.
What do you think?

:?: :?:

Hi!

There is 3 files which controls Bulette trail effects in game, i only changed 2 of them.
1. TrailThin.eff controls white trail and
2. Smoke_BlackBuletteTrail.eff controls the Gray coloured trail.
If you open them with notepad, inside you will see which .mat file and . tga file they use to produce the effects, it' only to play with variables to make your own.
I hope it helps you.

I'm still using the original file Stuka and I think you have done a fantastic job with this. It's seems far more realistic for the cannon fire and it give the feek of being there, thank you...

Not a modder and am just learning all of the different mods and effects here as well..

I can tell you why some tracers give the swirl effect.....I have and have fired several "live" 7.7mm japanese tracer rounds and the hole in the bullet for the smoke is a tiny hole on the "side" of the bullet. As its fired and spins the smoke exits only from the side not the rear like most other tracer rounds. Hope this helps....
